Finding a lump in your breast can be very scary, but not all of them are cancerous tumors or life-threatening. Fibroadenomas (FAs) are benign; non-cancerous marble sized tumors or cysts found on the upper side of the breast. These are commonly found in fertile women under the ages of 30.
Although it is still unclear why these tumors form, researchers concluded that there is a strong connection to nutrition and estrogen dominance. People who eat more fruits and vegetables are associated with a lower risk. (find the study here)
Although some women report great results with homeopathic remedies or acupuncture, for most women these don’t work. Lifestyle and diet changes are the best way to go.

Here are a few guidelines on how to fight breast fibroadenomas naturally without surgery:
- Eat no meat or drastically reduce meat intake. Try to make the switch to a more vegetarian lifestyle. Begin slowly by trying to leave out meat every other day and work your way up. Click here for some great tips to ease your way into a plant-based diet. Always opt for organic meat which is chemical- and hormone-free.
- No refined sugars.
- Avoid estrogen-like compounds into your diet; these make it all worse. Meaning no soy or dairy products. Soy is not a health food as it comes to your breast health. Click here to learn more.
- Drink fresh, organic vegetable juices or smoothies every day. Wheatgrass hasnโt the best taste but has shown some great results in reducing fibroadenomas. Other breast-friendly veggies you should add to your daily juices and smoothies are kale, spinach, dandelion leaves, celery, parsley, and cucumber. (click here to download my free green smoothie ebook)
- Alkalize your body with fresh fruits and veggies. Opt for organic as much as possible to avoid toxins and other chemical substances (click here to get some tips on how to eat organic without breaking the bank).
- Stress and lack of sleep severely affect fibroadenoma in a negative way. Try yoga to get some positive energy and get your stress levels under control. (Click here for 5 easy breathing techniques to de-stress your life)
- Avoid fried or fatty foods and processed foods as much as possible. They contain harmful and tumor-promoting carcinogens.
- Get off birth control pills; they are linked to a higher risk of fibroadenomas.
- Eliminate all caffeine from your diet. This means coffee, true teas (green, white, oolong, black tea), coca cola and chocolate.

A few natural remedies that could help you to reduce the pain and tenderness:
- Vitamin E supplements: some women report significant improvement in their pain and tenderness when taking vitamin E supplements, while others donโt show any significant effect at all. Instead of going for supplements you could up your vitamin E intake through the food you eat. ย Foods with high levels of vitamin E include leafy greens, broccoli, tomatoes, basil, red bell peppers, asparagus, butternut squash, kiwis, mangoes, nuts, seeds, avocados, and olive oil.
- Evening primrose oil: has shown some great results in alleviating pain and tenderness. The recommended dose is 3 grams a day for 3 to 6 months.
- Iodine supplementation: iodine deficiency may play a role in the development of breast cysts. Without iodine, the breast tissue becomes more sensitive to estrogens which may cause fibroadenomas.
- Herbs that alleviate breast pain and swelling: dandelion leaves, uva ursi, cleavers, and yarrow.
- Poke root oil or castor oil have been used for ages to reduce painful breast lumps. Rub the oil in like a lotion.
- Natural progesterone cream: many breast cysts or benign tumors are linked to dominant or high estrogen levels and low progesterone levels. Many women have experienced that the application of natural progesterone in a cream or gel routinely solves painful lumps in the breasts.
If you keep these simple lifestyle guidelines in mind you should see and feel some great results within 1 to 3 months. Make sure to exam your breast regularly. If you feel a lump or lumps in your breast it is important to contact your doctor straight away to get it tested. It is important to know whether your lump is cancerous or not. Early detection of malignant tumors saves lives.

My Dr recommended a surgery to remove the lumps in my breast. Since in my case its multiple macrolobulated fibroadenoma, a chance of another surgery later in my life cant be avoided. I was thinking if there is any way out of this other than surgery. N when I came across this article I’ve got back my happiness. I do have hope now ๐ thanks a lot for making me feel comfortable in life again .
You’re welcome! A lot can be done by changing your diet and lifestyle. Take care!
Is this possible to remove lumb without surgery
Hi Vish. Yes, it is possible through changes in diet and lifestyle as well as stress reduction. This, however, is no guarantee but it will prevent other lumps to grow in the future. Has your lump been confirmed as a Fibroadenoma? Take care!
Hi Amy, my obgyne already referred me again to a surgeon. I feel really sad that I have to undergo again another surgery. ๐ Also, I love black tea. I drink it during weekdays. Is it really that bad to take them? I had my first lump in 2016.. And I work on a nightshift..it really grew faster duting that time. Hope you can confirm these factors. Your blog is very helpful
I have a fabrodenoma in my left breast…if I follow this way…can I remove my fabrodenoma….plz reply …
Hi Rituparna, changing your diet and lifestyle is not a guarantee for shrinking FAs. However, it is your best bet to avoid them in the future. These lumps did grow for a reason and just taking them away via surgery doesn’t change the root cause. This is why most people who undergo surgery see the lumps coming back within a year. If they aren’t causing any discomforts there is no reason to undergo surgery. Simple lifestyle changes can help to reduce their size or prevent new ones to grow. Hope this helps.
One natural doctor gave me antioxidants and within days the tumor shrunk allot. Later I got sick and it grew in size again and then I changed my diet to a vegan diet and my goodness. Diet is everything! Food is medicine!
Absolutely right Gail. Food is the best medicine out there!
What is the name of the antioxidant?
Hi Gail, can you please tell us the name of antioxidant???
I had surgery 5/2015. There was a big fibroadenoma on my left breast.
I thought I would be fine. But last week I had a breast USS which showed there’s something new the doctors had not seen. It turned out to be a phyllodes. Which because how it was not seen before and how quickly it grew, my doctor will be doing another surgery to remove it next week. She also told me I have two other fibroadenomas on my right breast, but because they are small she’s not suggesting to remove them but rather watch me closely. I will have another breast USS in 6 months for the right breast.
The article says to try to avoid dairy products. I love milk, yogurt, cheese. Would organic milk (grass milk) be better to drink? I know there’s other types of milk, but I’m not sure I’ll be happy with those. I have no problem giving up cheese and yogurt, ice cream but would it be ok to still drink organic milk not everyday but maybe every other day?
Hi Blanca, you can still eat/drink dairy in moderation. However, like mentioned make sure to opt for organic and grass-fed to avoid hormones and antibiotics which can worsen the condition. Can cryoablation be done in addition to diet?
Hello Kristina, cryoablation is definitely a great option (and alternative to surgery) if the FAs are causing too many issues. Changes in diet and lifestyle will still be important to avoid new FAs to develop. take care.
hi, iam poly. my sister breast fibroidenoma for use flaxseed oil useful. breast up use for turmeric and honey .kindly ans please .
Hi Poly. Flaxseed oil is a wonderful oil, just as turmeric and honey. Turmeric can be added to smoothies, juices or many dishes or it can be taken as a supplement. Or turmeric paste made with honey os a popular way of consuming turmeric too. However, note that honey is sugar and should be eaten in moderation. Diet is very important, especially eating more vegetables and fruits is something your sister should be mindful of. Feel free to send her the link to the FREE eBook for more info: http://eatlove.live/free-ebook-natural-treatment-for-fibroadenoma/ Take care!

Hi Nenita, sorry for the late reply. I have been sick the past few days. Is the FA causing any discomfort or pain at the moment? Simple dietary and lifestyle changes may help you shrink the FA. Yoy can find more info in my free ebook about natural cures for FA (http://eatlove.live/free-ebook-natural-treatment-for-fibroadenoma/). However, since the FA is quite big, surgery might be needed if it is causing pain. Take care!

Hey mam,
I am 19yrs old & i’m having multiple breast fribroadenomas. A giant fribroadenoma is present about 6.7cms in my right breast & doctor has suggested to go for surgery in coming month. There are few small lumps in left breast too about 3-4cms.. would surgery in both breasts affect my breast size or breast feeding in future married life ? What changes i can make in my diet to avoid surgery for small lumps ? Do suggest me.
Thank You
Hi Janvi! When you are in or around your twenties FAs are quite normal since you are going through a lot of hormonal changes. Dietary changes such as eating more vegetables and fruits, no soy products or coffee, and moderate amounts of dairy and meat can do a lot. Find more info in the free ebook that you can download here: http://eatlove.live/free-ebook-natural-treatment-for-fibroadenoma/
Also, FAs and surgery don’t affect the ability to breastfeed. Sometimes surgery can affect the shape and size, but for many women, they will not notice any difference.
Hi I’m marissa from Philippines, I undergo mammogram and ultrasound the result is birads3 and 1.3 cm, what should I do to avoid surgery and the the doktor said that I will come back after 6 months to do mammogram and ultrasound again,I’m afraid of my situation. Thanks
Hi Marissa, I know what you mean. Having breast lumps and bumps can be scary. Luckily dietary and lifestyle changes can do a lot. Did you download the free eBook: http://eatlove.live/free-ebook-natural-treatment-for-fibroadenoma/ ? There is a lot of information in there that may help you out!
I can relate to you. I am looking for other ways to avoid surgery as well. I am 24 and I already had a surgery 2 years ago
I like the information in story, I have a question that I am 40yrs and last year I found with fibroadenoma on both breast. this year I become pregnant with 2 months but I have miscarriage. I did test to found what cause of miscarriage and the result was that I have a lower progesterone. and this may be is the cause of lumps. my doctor gave me evening primrose oil omega 6. my question is , will this oil treat perhaps the lumps on the breast. and where can I get natural progesterone cream, can doctor give that. please I am worried too much. please assist.
Hi Sylvia,
I am so sorry to hear about the miscarriage and FAs. Evening primrose is ideal to fight any discomfort you might experience. As for the natural progesterone cream, look for the ones that say natural bio-identical progesterone.
FAs and a miscarriage can have many reasons. Our lifestyle, diet and stress levels are important contributors. If you haven’t done so yet, feel free to download my free ebook on how to treat and prevent FAs naturally. https://eatlove.live/free-ebook-natural-treatment-for-fibroadenoma/

I have fibroadenoma and my doctor said I’m gonna have to do an X-ray.And if it s truly a fibroadenoma it will be up to me whether I remove the lump or not,so I’m really scared!but since I saw ur page I had hope tha I don’t have to do a surgery!thanks for that
You’re welcome! Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Take care. Merry Xmas and happy new year.
Hi doctor am just 22. I observed a lump on my left breast and was removed through surgery and I never knew there another on d right so I met my doctor and a breast scan was done and d result was fibrodemonas of d size 2.6 x 1. 6cm and an excisional biopsy is advised but I don’t want to go through a surgery again can diet help me and what kind of diet?
Hi Rachel, a healthy mainly whole food diet can definitely help. Avoid all soy products, processed foods, go easy on coffee if you drink it, and watch out which meat you buy (if you’re not vegetarian or vegan). If the FA is not causing any pain or discomfort there is no need to opt for surgery straight away. Changing diet and shrinking the FA takes time, but it is definitely possible. Take care!
Hi!
I have a quick question, does progesterone natural cream make the fibroadenoma bigger? My mom gave me a one but im not sure to use it cause im afraid it gets bigger :(. I’ve already gone to the doctor and made some tests, told me that if I wanted it can be removed but I want to try natural ways first.
Thanks for the usefull information!!
Hi Priscila,
Progesterone natural cream can indeed help fibroadenoma in some cases as it may have something to do with estrogen dominance, but should never be used long term. Progesterone is estrogen balancing counterpart, but as with anything be mindful about the use…. here’s an helpful article about the cream…http://www.patient.co.uk/forums/discuss/natural-progesterone-cream-dangers-be-aware–273620
Many women have healed their fibroadenoma naturally, if however it doesn’t go away and causes problems, listen to the advice of your doctor as surgery may be needed.
Hope this helps! Take care.

Hi,
Came across your article today, very helpful blog but I had two questions:
Why should meats be avoided? Also when you no longer consume milk, other dairy products or soy products what’s the best way to add the nutritional content that these foods offer back in your diet without becoming deprived of them?
Hi Suzie,
Not all meats should be avoided, organic meat is still ok, but most meats on the market today are packed with hormone disrupting chemicals (same for dairy products) which can make it worse. Soy should be avoided at all cost. It contains phyto-estrogen. I written and article about health dangers of soy. You can read it here: http://eatlove.live/is-soy-bad-for-you/
Most people consume milk for the bone-building nutrients or to add up to protein. Many veggies, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils and grains can give you the same nutrients. Read this for more info: http://blogs.naturalnews.com/get-enough-plant-based-calcium-better-dairy/ and http://blogs.naturalnews.com/go-dairy-free-improve-health-truth-revealed/
Hope this helps!

Hi, I have breast lump since I was 14 years old and now I’m already 26 years old, I’m a bit scared bec. I’m not sure what it is, its movable and a bit flat, and quite big.I just wanna ask can it help if I will change my diet too.
Hi Kristine, first of all it best to get it checked by a doctor to make sure what it is. Diet is indeed very powerful and can solve many issues. I once had big painful lumps, which apparently were caused by soy products… stopped soy intake and ate loads of fresh whole foods and lumps disappeared. But first you need to know what it is though… probably it will be a benign growth. Malign tumors like breast cancers tend to get bigger quite fast.
Take care!
I have fibroadenoma and my doctor has suggested the surgery to remove it. I wanna know if this will alter the shape of my breast or not?
This will all depend on the location, size, and surgeon. Although for most women the operation only leaves a scar (an some discomforts from the anesthetic), for some changes in the shape or overall appearance of the breast can also be a result from surgical removal.
Your surgeon should tell you his assesmet of this. It really depends on many, many things. I have 4 fibroadenomas in my breasts and one of them is 1,2 inches, its big and high in the breast so you can sometimes see it through the skin when I lie on my back, but the surgeon told me that there wont be any alterations in the shape if I were to have a surgery. On the other hand one friend had only one and it was hardly half and inch, but it did leave a ”dent” in the breast.
I have fibroadenoma, with pain. i am 25 years old.i took evening primrose oil 55 days, i felt better than i left .it is 12 days now that i left medicine.but again i am feeling little pain .should i go to doctor, may be he will recommend me to take more days for medicine.i also have kidney stone of 7 mm and taking homeopathic treatment.i just want to know that there will any side effect of taking both medical treatment.?is this lead breast cancer?what to do ??pls help.
The tips and tricks in the article have helped many women prevent, control and cure fibroadenoma. It isn’t a lead to breast cancer, but if the pain persist you should go to your doctor and maybe surgery may be needed. Also make sure you get that kidney stone checked and monitor if it is shrinking or dissolving. Take care!
Hai I am 38 yes old. I have fibroadenoma in both breasts but I have pain in left breast only.on the other side I am taking homeo treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. Which food I should prefer ?
Eat lots of fresh, whole foods and avoid caffeine, sugar, soy, processed foods and go easy on meat consumption as well. Take care ๐
Hello,
I have a large lump in both of my breasts and I am worried that if I have surgery I will be flat chested because the lumps are so big. I am also worried that even if i changed my diet it will not get rid of the lumps because of their size. I don’t know what to do, please can you give me some advice.
Hi Em, have you been to your doctor yet to make sure the lumps are benign? Changing diet can definitely help you to reduce the size, but if they are too big and causing discomforts or pain, surgery may be needed though. If they are quite big, your breasts may indeed lose a bit of their shape, but they are not going to take the whole breast away. But it is hard to say if taking them away will make you flat chested though… this all depends on your breast size. Take care ๐
I have 2 fibroadenoma which r paired & each size is about 2.8 cm. Just before 4-5 months it was half size .my doctor said it is fibroadenoma & may b needed to go through a surgery after FNAC which I haven’t done yet.is it malignant ??? I fear
If it is a fibroadenoma, then you don’t need to worry. They are benign tumors and can be reduced through dietary and lifestyle change. Take care!
Are you asking about the FNAC TEST? If so I have done it because I also have a lump in my breast and my doctor suggest me to take FNAC test and after that it was found as Fibroadenoma. The test is little bit painful though a needle will be inserted inside the breast and taken some sample of the lump.
Hai I am 24 yes old. I have fibroadenoma in both breasts but I have pain in Right breast only.on the other side I am taking vitamin fvit400 capsules. And dr said it will stop automatically without surgery Which food I should prefer ?
Hi Shalini, no soy, reduce meat and dairy and eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.Free eBook about how to cure FA without surgery coming today or tomorrow. So eep an eye on the website.
i have fibroadenoma last april 2014 my doctor said f after 6mnths observatio f a bigger than last examination remove it. now i take mx3 capsule 2times a day. i ask u mx3 is the best supplement? until now taking already…
Hi Karen, mx3 has no proven health effect. Instead of taking supplements it is better to watch your diet and make sure you get all essential nutrients through a well-balanced, clean, whole food diet. If you want to learn more about clean eating, check out this article: http://eatlove.live/what-is-clean-eating/… take care!
Hi,
7 years back I had a breast surgery. They took out a lump about 3cm big. It was all fine for all these years but suddenly yesterday I found out that one more lump is formed(about 1cm).
I’m on medication for next 2 months but I want to get rid of it the natural way.
I’m very scared and keep thinking about it all day.
Contact your doctor and get that lump checked. Diet and a healthy lifestyle are very powerful to cure fibroadenomas naturally.
i found a lump in my breast since i was 20 and now im 27,,sometimes it causes pain especially when my monthly period is approaching.is this cancerous?im afraid.
probably not as cancerous lumps tend to grow en multiply really fast. But to be absolutely sure it is best to contact your doctor and get it checked.
Please check with your doctor, please, he is the only person who can tell you what is happening. That said, one of the most defining differences between malignant tumors and benign changes are movement. If you can move it under your fingers inside your breast its probably not cancer. Cancer is attached to the tissue and doesnt move independantly.
Thanks Lena for your feedback! Have a great weekend ๐
I believe meat plays a huge role. Naturally I’m not a huge meat eater and since I stared the Paleo Diet two weeks ago my complex fibroadenoma has doubled in size. My question is which meats do not effect fibroadenomas?
Hi Shauna, some people will be sensitive to meat or changes in their diet. Always listen to your body… it sends you an important message that paleo isn’t your diet. If eating meat opt for organic only to avoid hormones and other nasty chemicals. Take care
Hi Amy,
You have suggested getting off birth control to avoid additional estrogen. I also took a look at the study that you have quoted. There they find that birth control intake was associated in lower incidence of fibroadenomas in subjects. I always stumble on this kind of contradictory evidence and cannot make up my mind whether birth control pills are harmful or beneficial. On one hand, you are putting extra estrogen in your body. On the other hand, these pills may help with regulating your hormones in general.
Thank you!
Hi Masha, we are all unique and for some people estrogen indeed helps to regulate hormones but for others it will only cause more problems. Some studies have found that estrogen dominance may be one of the big culprits, so if that’s the case than adding more is definitely a bad idea. Take care!
Hi Amy, I’m 24, I had undergone surgery 4 years back for fibroadenoma, but the tumour seems to have reappeared. I don’t drink coffee or soy at all but have a lot of meat. Should fish be avoided too? I’m planning to start taking evening primrose oil. I see they are sold in softgels of 500mg primrose content. How many of these should I take daily. Thanks in advance!!
Hi Nisha, I feel for you. Many women who undergo surgery, unfortunately, see FAs coming back after a few months or years. You can still eat meat and fish but make sure the portion of vegetables you eat a day is bigger than the meat/fish or grain (rice, pasta, etc.) or potato portion. Also, make sure they come from a reliable source. Meat often contains traces of hormones or antibiotics as does farmed fish. The recommended dose is 1 to 2 capsules a day (http://shop.body-in-balance.org/products/pure-evening-primrose-oil-softgels). Take care!
I went thru biopsy.its fibroadnema..recently I realised anthr one.one iz attached to d wal of my breast n othr is below wich z nt attached.wat cud b ur suggestion? M scared of surgery.plz hlp.
Th best way to avoid surgery is to change your lifestyle. Avoid soy, caffeine, processed foods etc… check them regularly and if they grow make sure to contact your doctor.
Thnq amy..n can I tak any mass gain powders to pt on weight as im underweight fr my age though I eat well
You’re welcomealex! Most powders, like protein powders, are heavily processed and should be avoided. Instead opt for healthy fats such as avocado and coconut oil, protein rich foods such as quinoa, and whole grains (if you are not gluten sensitive of course).
Hi i’m imelda i wen for medical check up n had bad new. Looks like i have nodular opacities at both breast, appear benign likely fibroadenomas(B3).

Hi Amy, thanks for this article. I do have firboadenoma which is 3cm last february which is big on my left breast and another 4 lumps found in my ultrasound. Its up to me whether I go for surgery or not but for her she dont like surgery.. now , trying to avoid foods that are not allowed or limits them… I took mx3 yesterday, hearsay it help to decrease and prevent lumps.. although theres no therapeutic claim.. I’ll let you know soon after my ultrasound. GOD BLESS US!
You’re welcome Chan! Thanks for sharing your story, we would love to hear your experiences with the ultrasound. Take care ๐
hello,
I had a fibroadenoma excised 4 years back(now i am 27), later other appeared. my doctor suggested birth control pills for 1 month. After taking X ray and ultrasound they reported seven multiple fibroadenoma now…. ๐ I am a pure vegeterian taking lots of green vegetables…..now what should i do now????
Hello Archie,
As a vegetarian do you eat a lot of soy-based products? Are you eating a lot of processed foods, sugar, or drinking coffee? And what about stress? All these factors are possible reasons of the development of fibroadenomas.
Have a great summer weekend ๐
hello Amy,
thanks for the reply. I dont take coffee or processed food or soya products much. A bit stressful life……the size of lesions are 2 cms and less, so my doctor postponed surgery after 6 months or a year…..now I am scared about seven excision marks or any new lesions appear in future….till that time I follow your natural remedies hoping for the best….thnq!!
You’re welcome! All the best
i have lumps in my breast but am not sure if it is fibroadenoma cos av bin running away from the hospital cos am scared , i jst gave birth and my baby is now 3month old and av bin breastfeeding her since i put to bed .i want to know if is not going to cause harm to my baby.d fibroadenoma as bin there since 2000.thanks for the tips
Hi Shola, congrats with your little one. It isn’t going to harm your baby, actually breastfeeding will give your baby the best start in life. As long as the fibroadenomas are not causing any issues or growing there is no need to get surgery or go to the hospital. Nutrition and getting stress under control are the 2 most important factors to keep it under control and to help them shrink naturally. Take care and enjoy the beautiful moments with your little one ๐
Hi
I had fibroadenoma when I was 18. Doctor suggested for biopsy in both breast. Now I m 23, I have multiple fiberadenoma n it pains sometimes. Consulted doctor also. They said no need to worry. But still the size is same n in so many place. Small small lumps are there. I have reduced my intake of non veg. Can I eat egg? Wt should I take?
Hi Daisy, you can still eat eggs if you want but eat them in moderation. A healthy well-balanced diet filled with fresh fruits and veggies is key to keep them under control. If pain persist make sure to contact your doctor. Take care!
Hi Amy,
Thank you for your article. It is very useful. Recently, I did an ultrasound scan and found out there are 2 cysts in my right breast AND 1 cyst and 1 fibroadenoma in my left breast. The fibroadenoma is measuring 0.6cm x 0.3cm x 0.5cm. My doctor said to do a follow up scan in 6 months time.
What is your best advice for me now? I am taking evening primrose oil. Should I also include Vitamin E and iodine supplements at the same time? I am not sure if I should take many types of supplements together.
For the past few weeks, I have drastically reduce my meat intake and eat more veggies and fruits. But now, I plan to just go for veggies and fruits. I will also avoid soy and dairy products. Can I know if green bean is a type of soy product?
Hi Juliana,
Thank you so much for reaching out. I’m glad the information is helping you to live a healthier life.
If you still gonna eat meat from time to time, make sure to buy organic to avoid all hormones and chemicals. If you decide to go vegetarian or even vegan make sure to meet your protein and vitamin B12 daily need.
Green beans are not the same as soybeans so you can still eat them as part of your healthy diet.
If you eat a balanced whole food diet there should be no need to supplement unless you suspect deficiencies of course. Evening primrose oil is great to soothe pain or tenderness. You can combine different supplements, but remember… getting the nutrients through your food is still better than relying on supplements to meet your needs.
Hope this helps! Take care.
Hi Amy –
No dairy so no cheese at all? Or just no cheese with hormones? I have avoided rBST/rBGH for a long time now.
Just had a 1.5cm FA looked at/tested. I have since cut refined sugar by 98% out of my diet and caffeine by 90% from my diet. I am seeing improvement. Not sure if it’s the diet change or hormonal related. I’ll know after giving this new diet a go for the next 30 days.
The surgeon said I have lumpy breasts. I don’t know what the means but I sure would like to fix it. Hoping removing caffeine and sugar does the trick.
Thank you.
Hi Janet!
You can still eat dairy products in moderation, but indeed make sure it comes from and organic, non-hormone source. Lumpy breast is nothing to worry about. Most women have lumpy breast. Diet can do major things. For me eliminating soy products, eliminating refined sugar, reducing coffee to 1 cup a day, and reducing dairy has done the trick.
Have a great day
Amy
Amy –
Thank you kind soul! I have totally cut coffee out so I feel better knowing that letting the one cup of green tea slip today after two weeks of no caffeine is all right. ๐ And also knowing my organic grilled cheese are OK too every once in a while. I just have to work on the juice thing but the rest of it I generally do well. Especially soy. Thank you again!
Here to help! Enjoy the weekend ๐
Army Goodrich ! You are a darling, thanks for sharing this and schooling us I really appreciate!
Thanks for your kind words! It’s my pleasure to spread the healthy lifestyle word and help others cure or prevent disease.
Hi amy i only need your advice about my sister, she just finish operation because the doctor found 2 lumps in her breast,in the biopsy result, minicous cystadinocarcinima largest mass fibroadenoma.can you give us some advice for that.thank you so much we are from philippine we worry a lot because of the financial problem.
Hi Helen, when they find cancerous cells it is important to keep close contact with the GP and get it checked regularly. For now there is nothing to worry about as the lumps have been removed. Self checks and regular visit to your GP is important as is the diet. Check out the article for lifestyle changes to avoid new lumps. Take care.
We hope we heard from you soon thank you so much
Hi amy thank you so much for the advice…..because that is the doctor result and she advice to take out my sister breast in pay 30000 peso after operation.
You’re welcome! It is also a good idea to get a second opinion before undergoing major surgeries. No need to remove breast if it is not cancer.
After your advice amy we not worry a lot now
Hello, this article is great! I’ve been vegan for almost 2 weeks. Unfortunately I had shrimp and fish the other day so, I was wondering if seafood is fine to eat?
Heya Joanna, seafood is ok to eat in moderation. So nothing to worry about when having it now and then. But make sure it comes from a reliable source and is fresh. Take care ๐
We learning a lot of your site thank you so much
You’re welcome! I’m glad to hear you like the info I’m sharing. Have a happy and healthy day!
Hi amy.i just want to ask again if no stage of cancer of my sister biopsy result?thank you so much
Hi Helen. Not sure what your question is. If it is no cancer than there is no need to remove breast. But not sure if that is the answer you are looking for. Hope your sister is ok. Take care ๐
Hi amy this is the exact result 18x10x10 230 grams A.5.0×3 2×3 0cm.23 grams B.4.0×3 5×2 218 grams.in that is muninous cystadinocarcinima largest mass fibroadenoma.that is the biopsy result after operation.my sister doctor advice is to take out the hall breast.so now we thinking to go in ask another doctor to read the biopsy one more time.
Hope amy you can advice us more about that result if that is cancer or not because my sister is only 20 years old and she dosnt want to take out her beast.
I’m not a oncologist or doctor (studied biology and pharmacy), but a second opinion wouldn’t hurt before undertaking something as serious as removing one of the breasts. My auntie had breast cancer and she received chemo and surgery, and still has both breast.
Thank you amy
You are welcome! Take care and sending much love and healing power to you and your sister.
Hi, I have had fibroadenoma since I was 17 , now I am 24 and I still have them (I have multiple in both breast) but one of the biggest and oldest is the one on my left Breast, recently it has started tu hurt (a little pain with great discomfort). I also noticed that when I eat healthier, I feel better most of the time. So I just want to say thank you for your advice because starting today, I will make sure everything I consume is healthy. This article confirmed my thoughts that eating healthier made me feel better.
Hi Ella, thanks for sharing your story with us! I’m happy to hear healthy food is helping you manage the discomforts and no surgery is needed! Have a great and healthy week ๐
I have fibroadenomas in both breast two in each side. is this dangerous? and for one month i dint get my periods. this can cause any problem in my life? can i go for my marriage life now?
Hi Priya,
Fibroadenomas are not dangerous but can have some discomforts. If they are quite big they can be painful and removing them may be necessary then. Not getting your period can have many causes. Are you under a lot of stress lately? And no worries about married life. If you feel ready forit, go for it.
Enjoy the week ๐
Amy
Hey there, i have recently been diagnosed with Fibroadenomas and been doing research online till i came across this website.
today is my first day and will do this from today itself. and observe the result. i am so scared of needles and operations.
hope this works for me to.
oh i forgot to mention that Dr. has adviced to have Tab B-long F for a month. i m not sure of its effects though. can anyone help me on this.
It contains vitamin b6 and folic acid. It is often given to pregnant women. Not sure if it will help. You could try and see what happens or up your intake of fresh whole foods which are high in b6 and folic acid. Take care!
ok. Amy. Thank you. will revert back in a week with the progess.
Hi, I am eighteen and found my fibroadenoma just over a year ago, I was diagnosed at a clinic where they done an examination and ultra sound, they didn’t do a biopsy which worried me slightly. I found this page recently and am now giving the diet ago, I just wondered how long it normally takes to see any results? I was also contemplating getting the lump removed but was told that I didn’t need to by doctors, but I think it’s the thought of it being there that made me question whether to. I just wondered if anyone had any advice? Thank you x
Hi Gemma, as long as the lump is not causing pain or any discomfort there is no need to remove it. How long it takes to see any results differs from person to person. It can even be that it doesn’t shrink at all but just doesn’t grown any more. Or it can be that it reduces to the sizes of a rice grain…. but no worries. I have had bumps and lumps as well and they never did any biopsy. I’m not a biopsy or ultrasound expert… but I guess they can see the difference. a biopsy is not without risks so if it can be avoided it is better. Take care ๐
Hi Alya, no need to be scared. Having lumps and bumps in your breast is perfectly normal. Getting a biopsy is a standard procedure and nothing to worry about. Almost every woman struggles with this at some point in their life. Also avoid wearing bras with wire. They put pressure on the tissue and can cause it to thicken even more. I’ll cross my fingers for you! Take care!
Hi,
When I was 20 yrs old had my first FA removed. And at 31 my 2nd FA is removed too.
Just went to a doc today and they used ultrasound found out that I have 3 FA in my right and 1 on my left and its little painful. The doctor told me to observe for 6 months. And with in 6 months if I’m not comfortable I should have a mammogram .
I’m worried. Hope that the ultrasound is right and hoping that the pain will disappear. I don’t want to go for another operation. I’m tired of this.
I have children and I have to care for them. Please help me.
Thank u.
Hi Myles,
Dietary changes can help reverse FA’s (no caffeine, no soy, reduce meat, to name a few). Are you under a lot of stress, too? This can negatively affect FA’s. For the pain, it helped me a lot to stop wearing a bra whenever possible. Just wear a tight T-shirt or sports bra if needed. No more wired bras. Vitamin E and iodine supplementation can help, too. Hope the pain will soon disappear, I noticed that the pain and swelling get worse when menstruating or around that period.
Take care!
Amy
Hi..
Thank you very much for the advice. I started to eat veges and fruits. No more meat ,soy, coffee. Can u please tell me the dairy products that’s bad for me. Coz im little confused.
Yes I’m stressed because of my FA everytime I feel little pain. I have a daughter and I’m teaching her to eat veges and fruits. I’m very thankful to u.
Is fish OK? How about shellfoods like crabs?
Your advice gives me hope that someday I will be free from fibroadenoma without surgery. I will share this to my friends and loveones.
God bless u.
Hi Myles,
You are welcome! I know FA’s are a stressful thing to cope with. But they don’t increase your risk of cancer, so no worries there, and if you keep these guidelines and healthy lifestyle changes in mind, the pain should go away as well. Deep breathing or yoga always helps me to get my stress levels under control.
Make sure your seafood comes from a reliable source and as for the dairy… moderation is key. If eating meat or dairy, buy and eat organic produce and free-range, organic lean meats to reduce your exposure to added hormones, pesticides and fertilizers. Also avoid milk and other dairy products that contain the genetically engineered recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH or rBST). Oh and try to avoid foods and drinks packed in plastic or canned foods, since chemicals can leach out of plastic into the contents. Bisphenol A (BPA) is a serious concern; make sure plastic containers and canned goods are BPA-free.
Hope this helps. Take care!
Amy
Thank u very much.
If I continue this healthy life style, does my FA will decrease in size and disappear?
Unfortunately I can’t say yes or no to that question. FA differs from person to person. In my case they decreased to the size of a rice grain, for others they will stay the same size or slightly decrease, but the discomforts and pain will go away and that’s the most important thing isn’t it?
hello mam my age is 23. i am unammaried..i have firoadenomas problem..i am very upset for that..pl give me any solution
Hi there, No need to be upset. Most women struggle with fibroadenomas at some point in there life. It doesn’t increase your risk of cancer, but they can be painful though. Like mentioned in the article, dietary changes can have a powerful effect as managing stress levels. Take care
I just heard after marriage this problem will gon by some relationship is it??
Keep a close eye on it. It can go or stay the same. For some women it gets better when they have their first baby. Keep in mind that nutrition plays a key role here too.
Take care and have a great weekend.
hi
I recently turned 16 I also noticed a very hard painless spot in my left breast I haven’t been to the doctor cos I want to hope it’s not something serious…would really appreciate it if you could give me an idea bout what’s wrong n possible solution to get rid of this lumpy feeling Thanks.
Hi Lami, It is quite normal for women to have lumps and bumps in the breast while going though hormonal changes. There are many forms of lumps such as cysts (rubbery sacs filled with fluid), lipomas (noncancerous lumps of fatty tissue), fibroadenomas, etc. this doesn’t increase the risk of cancer but can become quite painful and annoying. Make sure to keep a close eye on your lumps and check breast regular for changes. To be absolutely sure what the lump is it is best to go to the doctors for a check up. Take care.
Hi Amy,
Have you had fibroadenoma before? And if you did, how big? and did this guidline help? Is this advice based in your own experience?
Hi Kayla, I’ve struggled with a few hormonal and fibrocystic breast changes in the past. Most were related to increasing soy intake and over consumption of coffee. I had a few cysts in both breast and had a fibroadenoma of about an inch. It is still there but reduced to the size of a rice grain and is hardly noticeable. Sometimes, around my period, these little lumps in both breasts increase in size and tenderness, but this goes away after a few days. Apparently this is absolutely normal for women in their 20’s or 30’s. In the past I couldn’t even wear a bra due to the tenderness and pain. Eliminating soy and coffee from my diet made a huge improvement. Although I was able to reverse my discomforts, for some women an operation is needed. But changing lifestyle factors definitely helps. Well it helped me and many other women I have spoken too.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Hi Amy, this is Juliana. I wrote to you in July this year. I had cysts and a fibroadenoma in my breasts. Ever since then, I cut of meat, sugar, dairy and soy products completely from my diet. I eat veges and fruits and nuts; and sometimes fish like salmon so as not to have vitamin B12 deficiency. For your info, I am Asian, and I have rice in my diet everyday. I also run on threadmill 3-4 times a week.
I did my ultrasound scan follow-up recently. The fibroadenoma from before has dissappeared. However, now there are new multiple small masses (ranging from 4mm to 7mm) in both my breasts. I do not understand why as I have been taking good care of my diet and lifestyle. My doctor told me this is because my body is undergoing tremendous hormonal changes and I am having a fibrocystic breasts condition. No biopsy need to be performed as they are of benign characteristic but I need to do follow-up again in 6 months times.
Amy, just wonder if you have any suggestions to share with me which might help? Honestly I am a bit depressed and desperate.
Hi Juliana,
Thanks for sharing your personal story with us. Happy to hear the cyst and fibroadenoma have disappeared through changing your diet. As for the fibrocystic breast I struggle with this myself. It is like your doctor mentioned a period many women (in their ’20-’30) go through. Nothing to worry about, but it can be painful and uncomfortable though. Sometimes just before my period several milk glands explode to big lumps which are hard and painful to the touch. They disappear again after a few days No matter how healthy I eat or exercise,,,, once in a while they keep appearing. In my case probably because I haven’t had any children and hormones go in overdrive. So although it can be uncomfortable, there is nothing to be depressed, scared or desperate about. It is just your body going through a new hormonal phase of womanhood. Keep a close eye on them. Regular check up like you mentioned. Ohh btw… you can eat brown rice no problem in that… but make sure portion of veggies and fruit is bigger than the portion of rice. I live in Asia too these days and people here in Cambodia tend to load up their plate with white rice mostly (hence the rising diabetes numbers, they eat a lot of sugar too though), very little vegetable, and chicken and they flavor their dishes with MSG too… which should be avoided at all cost. It is a known carcinogen and hormone disruptor and can be problematic for fybrocysticc breast too.
Hope this helps a bit to bring some peace of mind. Much love and enjoy the rest of the week.
Amy
hi..i am 23 and very thin, only weight 39kgs. i have 4,5cm of benign. if i dont eat meat and soy products, i keep on losing weight, how to maintain both healthy and keep on balancing weight?
Hi Vania,
I wrote an article about healthy ways to gain weight that may help you out: http://eatlove.live/7-healthy-ways-to-gain-weight/
Try to eat as much whole, plant-based products as you can. Make sure to include enough healthy fats (avocado, coconut oil, seeds, nuts, etc) and protein (quinoa, lentils, beans, etc) Stay away from processed foods, opt for organic if possible, and if you drink a lot of coffee, try to reduce the amount to 1-2 cups max.
Hope this helps. Enjoy the last moments of 2015 and wishing you and your family a healthy and happy 2016.
Amy
hi!
this article is such a great reference for people like me who dislikes meds.
thank you.
Hi Jelly! You are welcome! And it is totally possible to get rid of fibroadenomas just by changing your lifestyle! Mine reduced to the size of a rice grain and no more pain! Have a happy, healthy week ๐
Hi Ms. Amy what is your opinion about applying hot and cold compress to the affected area of fibroadonema? Thanks
Hi Irma, personally I have never tried it but I have heard that it works for some. Especially in reducing pain and swelling around your period when fibroadenomas and milk glands tend to be swollen and painful. It definitely would not hurt or make it worse to give it a try and see if it helps for you. Take care and have a great week.
Hi again Ms. Amy i am contemplating between removal of my fibroadenoma naturally or surgery because of its urgency to removed it for a few weeks since my working visa to uae is on process. I am cleared in philippine medical but i have to undergo again medical in uae. I just felt the lump last week maybe short period of natural treatment is not too much sure. I pray that before my medical in uae this will disappear or at least lessen its size.
Hi again! Are you having a lot of pain or issues with it? As long as it is not too bad, surgery is actually not needed. No need to panic or get scared…. fibroadenomas are definitely no sign or precursor of breast cancer. Mine reduced to the size of a rice grain and don’t hurt anymore. They have been there for quite a while and all is fine. Healthy eating or changing your lifestyle takes a while but is not only beneficial for fibroadenoma, it will benefit your whole body and mind. Here to help so feel free to come back to me at any time for more info or have a chat. Take care!
Hi,
I recently found FIBROADENOMA in my left breast measuring in Mammography report about 4.7*3.3*2.5cm.I am aged 23,I recently met doctor and she told nothing serious.U can go for Surgery or can leave like that. But my mom is really worrying about it and she wanted me to go for surgery. Can you pls suggest me any Natural ways to get rid of it?or it really requires surgery?any future problems will arise becoz of that?
Hi there, It can be scary indeed to find a lump in your breast. But no need to worry. Fibroadenomas are NOT cancerous, NOR are they linked to increase breast cancer risk. Simple lifestyle and dietary changes (like no coffee, soy, processed foods, etc) can have a tremendous effect. Mine are reduced to the size of a rice grain, so as long as they are not causing too many discomforts, such as pain and swelling, there is no need to do surgery. Take care!
Hi Amy! I just wanna ask how to know if the lump is fibroadenomas or a cancerous lump? Im afraid to go to a doctor. I hope you can help me. Thank you!
Hi Gina, I’m afraid only the doctor can tell. But if it reassures you, most women have lumps and bumps and most of them or not cancerous. But to be sure you’ll have to go to the doctor, though. Did it grow rapidly? Cancerous lumps tend to grow very slowly. It can even take years. Also if they are tender or painful and tend to grow a little around your period changes are it is a fibroadenoma, cysts or other benign lumps or bumps. Take care and I’ll cross my fingers for you!
Hi…
It’s me again. Is it true multiple FA has a higher risk of breast cancer? And if its not removed?
Tnx..
Hi Myles, no worries. Happy to help. FAs do not increase the risk of breast cancer. However those fibroadenomas are a signal your body is giving that something is not working properly. It might be related to stress, food, certain chemicals, additives, etc… and these may increase your the risk of not only cancer but many other diseases too. Take care and enjoy the new week.
Hi Amy ! I already medical check up, and a doctor said I have fibroadenoma in left breast. She said, that is benign tumor and no need surgery, just check up regularly each 6 month to knowing the size. I just feel little pain sometime, but is it really ok to leave it? You said fibroadenoma while period, but on me after period the lump still the same in there.
Hi Dyah, no worries all is fine. No need to do anything. For every woman FAs are different. Some tend to be painful or swell a bit around the period, for others there is no swelling or pain. Keep the tips and tricks in the article in mind and you should be able to reduce and pain. For some women, they even disappear completely. Take care ๐
Hi Amy.I’m suriya my cusin has fibrade she is 20now.she has 3lumb on her breast.I worried about in future its affect her seriously.she can live no pain of her future life?.these diet how to use her.she can cure r not.I’m confused and worried about seriously.which is the best solution surgery r diet.which on is help her
Hi Suriya, for many women diet solves the issues. If over time the Fibroadenomas (FAs) do not shrink in size and they hurt, surgery may be needed. But I would recommend to start changing lifestyle first and see what happens. Surgery is a very invasive technique for the system and if it can be avoided it is always best. Like mentioned before, FAs is nothing to worry about. Although they can generate a few discomforts they are NOT increasing the risk of cancer.
Hope this helps! Take care!
Hi amy.
Recently i have also been diagnosed with fibroadenama.i hv heard the intake of whitegrass juice is good. since white grass is not available here…can i buy it online.is it safe
Hi Anitha, you can purchase wheatgrass on Amazon. They sell the powder that can be added to a smoothie (http://amzn.to/1TGwcED) or you can buy the seeds and start growing your own (http://amzn.to/1TGwhrY). It is safe to use and drink every day and is a great addition to a healthy diet, which helps to balance the body and fight fibroadenomas naturally. Take care!.
My daughter is 16 years old and she found a lump in her breast. An ultrasound called it a papilloma. The breast surgeon told her to take vitamin E and return in six weeks for another ultrasound. I took her to a doctor that has changed towards healing the body using food and vitamins. He told her to take the vitamin E, iodine and no caffeine. He wants her on the paleo diet as well because he diagnosed her with an autoimmune disorder, maybe Lupus, but not sure. My problem is that she is a teenager who has a poor diet. It is overwhelming for her when she thinks of all the change. She wants the surgery, but I don’t want that for her. How would you go about in changing her entire view on food and wanting to do it for herself? Help. She is stubborn!
Hi Nancy. vitamin E and Iodine are indeed very important and if she doesn’t get decent amounts through the food she eats it is important to supplement. As for the diet, I would take it slow. These lumps and bumps do not increase the risk of cancer, so if she’s not in pain or having any discomforts, gradually change her diet. (these days going more, or even 100% plant-based is a hip, cool thing to do among the youngsters) Also, there is no need to go to extremes. My hubby also has an auto-immune disease (Multiple Sclerosis), he hasn’t had any flare-ups for years and is off his weekly interferon injection for 1.5 years without having issues. he still enjoys carbs (grains) and dairy in moderation. As long as she is not allergic or intolerant there is no reason to exclude certain food groups out of her diet. However, with a picky teenager, it is indeed gonna be hard and it’s gonna take some creativity to get more whole, fresh fruits and vegs in her diet and source out the less healthy foods and processed/fast foods. In contrary to the paleo diet I would also recommend trying to reduce the meat consumption. (we generally eat 2-3 times meat a week and my hubby hasn’t felt better in his whole life). If you opt for meat make sure it comes from a reliable source. Antibiotics and other chemicals present in meats may make fibroadenomas, papillomas, and other lumps and bumps worse. Hope this helps. Take care!
Amy, you already replied below. I wanted to ask. My daughter saw her surgeon on Friday. She told me no diet or supplements will decrease the papilloma because it’s a tumor. Is that true? Thanks
Hi Nancy, it is a difficult question to answer. I know of some people that cured breast cancer (and other cancers) with diet and the use of frankincense essential oils (and a few other natural methods)… although no doctors will tell you that. Food is very important in developing these lumps and bumps. So changing her diet is something that needs to be done in order to prevent future lumps and bumps. Surgical removal of the papilloma may be the easy way to go, but lifestyle changes will definitely be needed, though. Just a note, surgery is not that bad you know. Unlike chemo or radiation, surgery doesn’t make you sick or harms healthy cells. There is an interesting 9-part documentary, called The Truth About Cancer…. and you may be surprised what you learn there. Chemo and radiation are money generating cures that actually can make things worse. There are better natural ways available but banks, big pharma, government, and a few very influential people are all highly invested in the chemo treatments…. so like said it is a very hard question the answer as not all info provided is honest and reliable (doctors also received no or very little training on nutrition). But like mentioned, surgery is nothing to worry about…. so better play safe! Hope this helps. Take care and all the best to you and your daughter.
Hi Ammy,
This week my 14 years daughter found a 1.5 cm lump in her left brest, as per our doctor advice to go for a surgery. she is very scared about the surgery . is it necessary for surgery ? she was a meat lover .. please advice the live style changes to avoid fibroadenama .
Hi Jisha, There is no need to get the surgery right away. Changing diet has helped so many women. My FAs shrank to the size of a rice grain and no more pain or tenderness. If you buy meat make sure it comes from a reliable source… best is organic grass fed, to avoid hormones. Also, soy should be avoided (this was for me the biggest culprit together with too much coffee). Is she eating a lot of veggies and fruits now? That’s probably the first things to do. Reduce meat and eliminate all soy products. Opt for fresh whole foods and avoid processed or fast foods as much as possible. Up the fruits and veggies.
Take care.
Hi Amy,
Good day!
I am truly impressed with the experience here that you have shared and you really give time in every comment.
My wifey had this FA on her right breast and I am always looking for ways on how to shrink it down or possibly eliminate it. We have been juicing fresh veggies with fruits since she had been diagnosed with those. Is juicing also good for FA? And what kind of veggies and/or fruits that are good to combat these FAs?
We also want to start fresh veggy salads, but do not have any idea on the good ingredients for FA, do you also have these simple recipes?
Do sleeping habit also affects FA?
Thanks.
Hi Louie,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your story. Juicing is definitely a good thing to do. However keep in mind if you are having it as a meal replacement make sure to blend instead of juice to make sure you get the fibers too. And the more veggies you add the better… so salads for lunch is definitely a good thing to do.
Unfortunately, there are no magic vegetables to get rid of FAs. And then actually, all veggies and fruits are. The key lies in a well-balanced diet where you keep processed foods, soy products, alcohol, coffee, etc to an absolute minimum. Try to load up your plate with different colors, this will provide you with all the nutrients. Also make sure every meal include carbs (whole grains, veggies, fruits, etc), healthy fat (avocado, coconut oil, olive oil, seeds, nuts, etc), and a protein (quinoa, seeds, nuts, quinoa, beans, lentils, lean organic meat, etc)However, try to cut down on meat and if you eat meat, make sure it comes from a reliable source (no hormones). Have you heard about the acid-alkaline balance for creating your meals? Here’s a link with a little bit more info: http://www.body-in-balance.org/blog/nutrition/alkaline-diet-benefits/
As for the recipes, you can find some on the Body in Balance website in the recipe section http://www.body-in-balance.org/project_category/all/ or if you are interested, I started a brand new meal planning website and currently there is a 7-day trial you can sign up for to see whether you like it or not: http://yourhealthy.menu/ All home tested and cooked recipes.
Hope this helps! Take care and you now where to find me if you have more question or need feedback.
Ohh and to answer your last question. Sleep indeed affects FAs. Not getting enough of it can put stress on your body. This plays a major role in hormonal balance, which is linked to the FAs.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend…
Hi Amy, I recently found a lump in my right breast and my doctor said it’s most likely to be FA. ๐ I do have an ultrasound and a mammogram test scheduled to make sure. I would like to know if and how pregnancy affects FA. I am 34, have no kids and have never been pregant. I do not take birth control pills either. My husband and I are thinking about having our first baby but I am terrified to start trying due to having FA. Will pregnancy cause more lumps or worsen FA? What about breastfeeding? My last question is if lifting heavy weights is ok to do or does that strain my FA?
Your help and advice is much appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you
Heya, although causes of Fibroadenomas (FAs) are unknown, hormones do play an important role (especially estrogen). During pregnancy a lot of hormones are involved, therefore FAs may increase in size during pregnancy and breastfeeding. But that’s very personal. Some pregnant women do not have any discomfort like tenderness or pain, others report the FA to be increased in size and tenderness. Many women have gone through pregnancy with FAs and there is nothing wrong or worrisome about it… the only thing, if they start to hurt a lot, you are gonna have to cope with it during pregnancy as surgery is not possible then. I have never heard of women who had more issues due to heavy weight lifting. Of course, if you experience pain or discomfort after lifting it is best to avoid it as much as possible. Try not to worry and stress yourself too much (as hard as that is!) Hope this helps and all the best to you and your family.
I was wondering if it’s okay to eat yogurt when you have fibroadenoma? I use organic yogurt as a dip when I eat vegues. That is the only dairy product that I eat.
It sure is! As long as you are not dairy intolerant yogurt can be a healthy part of your diet… and adds probiotics too. Ever tried making your own? It’s super easy. We make both coconut yogurt made from coconut milk and dairy yogurt.
Hi amy. I was diagnose of fibroadenoma last week but i felt the lump in my left breast like 4 mos ago. Surgeon told me no medicine to take yet for FA. She told me i can undergo surgery, im a little worried. 2×2 cm is the measurement. Can it decrease the size if i take supplements thats full of vitamins anti oxidant and for
Balancing hormonal level? Im in birth pills but i am consulting an ob nxweek bc i want to stop taking pillls i guess its the cause and stress. Can u give me an advice should i undergo surgery now or wait for months take healthy foods etc? Im 28 yrs ols btw. Thanks for replying
Hi Madel, as long as you don’t have any discomforts I would try to avoid the surgery. Stress is definitely a main contributor and changing your diet is very important too. Mine decreased to the size of a rice grain thanks to my healthy diet and going off all soy products and reduce my coffee intake to 1-2 cups a day. Getting off the birth control pill is another major step to take. You could try the copper coil (make sure it’s the one with no hormones).Supplements can definitely help!
Hope this helps. Take care!
Thank u amy for advice. Im taking the USANA biomega and coquinone and essentials hope these help. I just hope these an strenthen my immune system so the size of FA will decrease and finally disappear if not then i should undergo surgery bc im afraid the size will increase. Can you tell me what vegetavles and fruits should eat, . For fibroadenoma thanks so much amy
All veggies and fruits are good. Just try to eat a wide variety and avoid getting the same fruits and veggies all the time. Like mentioned before, no soy (also no soy sprouts), they contain phytoestrogen which can make the FA worse.
hi amy thank you for a good article. is taking flax seeds/chia seeds ok? also, i heard about turmeric/ginger/honey that will help shrink tumor. any advice on those? thanks a lot!!
Hi Karen, watch out with honey. Sugars that concentrated (even if they come from a natural source) may fuel tumors. All the other ones are great foods, especially turmeric and ginger, to help shrink tumors. However, remember eating these foods alone will not have a major effect. They should be part of a well-balanced, whole food diet where you eat all colors of the rainbow. Have a great week!
Hey..i have a small fibroadenoma on my left breast. The doctors said i dont need any surgery. They just advised me to take vitamin e supplements. Thats all I’m doing. They also asked me to eat lots of veggies…so should i cut down on meat totally? In our family…we just cant live without red meat…please help
Hi Sara, you don’t need to cut it out completely, but try and eat less and go a few days without. Milk is ok in moderation. But for both, make sure it comes from a reliable, organic sources with no hormones or GMO fed animals. Take care!
And yes..is it okay for me to drink milk
hi amy, i was diagnosed with FA when my newborn was only 5 mos old and breastfeeding. i am still strong on nursing even if my baby is now 14 mos old. doctor said to i dont need surgery yet but will see him next week for follow up appt. i dont want surgery and i want to continue nursing as long as i can. i noticed FA tends to be smaller when im on high veggie diet but when i eat sweets, i noticed it gets bigger however i dont have any pain and it doesn’t bother me even when nursing. So aside from eating a well balanced diet, what supplements can i take to shrink FA? does FA usually get bigger during lactation? what can i use to replace sugar when baking since you said to take it easy with honey. sorry for all the questions. any advice you can give me pls? thanks, GOD bless you!
Hi Karen, no worries. Happy to help and happy to hear that they are not causing any discomforts and you are still able to nurse your little one. When pregnant or nursing, a lot of hormones are involved which could worsen FAs. Like mentioned veggies and a well-balanced diet are very important. You can still use honey but like mentioned go easy on it. To sweeten things up we often use cinnamon. Or you could use stevia as well, although it might take you a while to find a brand that appeals your taste buds… how much raw sugar/honey are you currently using on a daily basis? Take care and have a great weekend!
hi amy, i use honey 2tsp/day. i came across an article online that a combination of 2 tsp honey with 1 tsp ginger everyday alternating it with 2 tsp honey with 1 tsp turmeric help shrink tumor. so, i have been doing that for a month now. i havent seen a significant change yet however as mentioned, when i have high veggie/fruits diet, i noticed a change. thank you so much for your quick replies. you’re awesome! ๐
You’re welcome! 2 tsps is just fine! Make sure to add a pinch of black pepper too when using turmeric. Its active compound isn’t absorbed very well and a little bit of black pepper ups to absorption a lot.
hi amy! good news, i went to see my dr yesterday & he could no longer feel the lump in my breast at all. it has shrunk significantly, praise GOD! i just want to share this with you as well as with others that there is hope. its true what they say, “let food by thy medicine”. have a blessed day!!!! ๐
Thanks for letting us know Karen. Positive stories like this mean a lot to people struggling with FAs. I’m so glad to hear you don’t have to go through surgery! Food is such a powerful tool when it comes to our health!
hi this is preethi iam suffering from this fibrodenoma 3years i had operarion before 3yrs again that tumors are formed wt should i do sir/mam tell me again the doctors said do operation tell me the solution plz
Hi Preethi, simple lifestyle choices can definitely help you out. A whole food, mainly plant-based diet is the best way. Avoid all processed foods, reduce meat and dairy intake and avoid soy products at all cost. If you drink coffee, try to eliminate that too, or don’t drink more than 1-2 cups a day. Hope this helps!
Hi Amy, do you any suggestions what type of rice, bread and sugar we can eat. I knew that we should watch our white rice intake and refined sugars. Is it okay if we switch into brown/black rice? How about bread, should we also replace it with brown bread? Also for sugar, should we take coconut sugar or brown sugar instead? Thank you.
Hi Dianne, brown and black rice are ok. You could also use other whole grains such as quinoa, buckwheat or amaranth instead. For bread also opt for the whole grains or sourdough. And as for sugar, raw palm sugar or coconut sugar are the healthier versions, but moderation is key. You could also use a little raw honey or maple syrup if you want. However, all the foods mentioned should be eaten in moderation as they all leave acidic ashes (which when too much can cause severe diseases and obesity) in the body and add a lot of carbs to your diet.

I really appreciate your response Ms. Amy. Can you make it clear to me about protein? I really thought that I should avoid foods that contains protein because it’s the food of any cyst or breast lump like mine (fibroadenoma). I think quinoa has high protein. I’m getting confused. Please help. Thank you!
You’re welcome! It is true that you should go easy on the animal proteins (mainly due to lingering hormones, antibiotics, and other chemicals). You can still eat chickpeas, quinoa, clean lean meats etc (NO SOY products though, these make things worse due to plant estrogens). Your body needs protein as they are involved in nearly every task. We need protein to repair and maintain body tissues such as skin, hair, muscles, eyes, and organs. They are needed to transport and store molecules such as oxygen, iron, and hemoglobin. Next to carbs itโs a major source of energy and it is needed to regulate and create hormones and enzymes, too. However, just as many other foods you should eat them in moderation. Fruits and veggies should take up the biggest part. Balance and alkalizing your body with fresh fruits and vegs is key. Here to help!
Comment hi I have a compatible with fibroadenoma rt breast..the doctor said don’t need any surgery is it right..
Hi Niru, that’s right. As long as the fibroadenoma (FA) is not causing any discomforts or pain there is no need for surgery. Lifestyle and dietary changes can help you to shrink the FA naturally.
Hello, I’d like to ask what you mean by “true teas”? I guess it means proper tea leaves as opposed to herbal teas, herbal infusions (which usually contain hibiscus leaves as a base instead of tea leaves)? I’m not fixated on tea leaves per se but I often have one cup of herbal tea in the evening (just one per day, if at all). Is this ok?
Hi Sandra, a tea is only a “true tea” if it actually contains tea plant leaves. This is why oolong, white, green and black tea are considered “true teas,” as their leaves come from the actual tea plant camellia sinensis, which just as coffee contains caffeine and should best be avoided or used in moderation when struggling with fibroadenomas. By contrast, rooibos, ginger, hibiscus, and other herbal teas do not contain leaves from the tea plant, nor do they contain caffeine and are safe for you to drink. Hope this helps. Take care!
Hi, mam my name is anu my age 22 i had a small lump on my right breast and it makes pain and discomfort and it was observed on my last periods time ; for diet control i drink green tea regularly and i am also eating nonveg regularly but last 20 days i changed my diet as a vegii and my doctor says it is a hormonal changes and they give me some folic acid and vit b and paracetamol is this ok and tell me the natural way to reduce the lump…..
Hi Anu, folic acid and vitamin b are ok to take. No need for the paracetamol, unless you are in a lot of pain. Green tea contains caffeine or theine which may worsen the lump. So better go easy on that. Avoid/eliminate all processed food and soy products, they are known to cause hormonal imbalances, and up your intake of fresh veggies and fruits. Take care!
i have fibroadenosis in my right breast and all time i feel haviness in my breast ..my dr. suggest me just vitamins tablet ..she said to me its nt a big prblm ..but i m suffer with iregullar periods circule ..so can u suggest me any idea to treat these prblm?
Hi Shivu, Fibroadenomas (FA) are indeed nothing to worry about. Healthy lifestyle changes are the best way to reduce the size. Avoid processed foods, coffee (and tea with caffeine), and soy products. Go easy on meat and dairy and if you have it make sure it comes from hormone and antibiotic-free sources. Living a healthy, active lifestyle, unripe papaya, fennel seeds, cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric are 3 excellent, healing herbs know to have an effect on irregular periods. Also, managing stress plays a key role in FAs and irregular periods. Hope this helps
My daughter is having a problem of Fibroadenomas as she is having a lump in her right breast and some times she is having pain as something is stinging inside the breast. So please suggest what to do as I am really tensed and don’t want a surgery.
Hi Maria, I know FAs can cause some tension and stress. Most people do not need surgery. The best way to reduce the size is through dietary and lifestyle changes. No soy, no coffee, no processed foods, and no refined sugars. If she is on birth control pill, it may be a good idea to stop taking it or change the brand or opt for non-hormonal contraceptives such as the copper coil. If she isn’t eating fruits and vegetables make sure to up the intake and go easy on dairy and meat. If eating dairy or meat make sure it comes from a reliable hormone and antibiotic free source. Stress levels are also a primary contributor to FAs. Hope this helps! Take care and feel free to come back to me if you have more questions or need feedback.
Well Thank a lot….but by thinking one thing I mostly get tensed and confused that as people are having lots of misconceptions about FA as when they hear about a lump in breast then they think that its definitely be a cancerous lump so please suggest to me that she should tell about it to her would be husband before her marriage but if they take it as in negatively?
You’re welcome Maria. There are indeed a lot of misconceptions about lumps and bumps in the breast, which are absolutely normal and most women will have them at some point in their life. FAs are not cancerous and nothing to worry about. I struggled with this myself a few years ago, and a healthy well-balanced diet fixed it all. So I don’t see any reason why this should affect one’s marriage and why the husband to be would make any problems about that. Take care!
Thanks so much for the info,I have been diagnosed of fibroadenoma 4weeks ago. There are multiple lumps which measures 1.27×0.57cm,1.79×0.57cm,& 2.29×0.78cm.is it going to get bigger or keep multiplying? with respect to diet change, should I totally stay off milk or what type of milk is ok to take, it’s yoghurt a no-no for me, what about eggs, pastries beverages and malted drinks. with respect to drugs, I was told to stay off folic acid that it multiply cell is that right? What vitamins can I take plus am losing weight so fast. Please help. Thanks
You are welcome! You can still have dairy products but reduce them to an absolute minimum. Do not opt for soy products as the plant estrogens make thing worse. You could opt for non-dairy milk (nut and seed milk) and yogurt. Here are my fav recipes if you want to make your own: http://www.body-in-balance.org/blog/nutrition/homemade-nut-milk/ and http://www.body-in-balance.org/project/homemade-coconut-yogurt/. Avoid alcohol, processed and sugary foods/drinks such as pastries and sodas. While some people believe folic acid may worsen FAs, no research backs up the claim and folic acid present in spinach, broccoli, corn, and legumes, are an essential nutrient our body needs. However, people who supplement on this may get too much of it. If you are taking these supplements, you can always try to go without and see whether it has an effect or not. The three most important ways to protect your breasts are eating a healthy diet, exercising and reducing stress. Hope this helps. Take care!
Hello Amy, I just have FA removed, 3 months later another one grew up again, please what should I do to dissolve it, I don’t want to undergo surgery again, thank you
Hi Becky, I really feel for you, and totally understand that you don’t want to go through surgery again. Simple lifestyle changes as described in the article are the best way to reduce FAs naturally. I’m currently working on a small booklet about FA and how to tackle them naturally. It will be ready in the coming 2-3 weeks so make sure to stay tuned for more info. You could subscribe to my weekly newsletter and then you will be notified to moment it is finished. Take care!
Hi Amy ,
Thanks so much , Ur very helpful. I’m 53, I felt a lump recently in my right breast & my right armpit which r both movable. The one in my breast is round about 4cm & in my armpit is oval kind about 4cm. My naturopathic dr advised me to do the hot & cold compress, does that help? Does FA exist in the armpit too? I eat salmon fish that is farmed raised from Canada , is that ok?
Thanks ,
Anne
Hi Anne, while FAs are usually found in the breast they can form in the armpits too. To be sure, I would recommend an ultrasound and/or a biopsy to make sure the lumps are FAs. Hot and cold compresses can help soothe the pain if they are causing any discomforts. I’m currently finishing a small free booklet on FAs and how to shrink them naturally as many people that come to the website are struggling with FAs. It will be finished in the coming week or 2. So if you haven’t signed up already make sure to subscribe to the newsletter so you receive an update when the book is ready.
In the meantime don’t hesitate to come back to me if you have more questions. Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend!
I am just 23 n i feel lumps in my breast i dont want surgry plz tell me any oil to massage or somethng else ti remov it.. plz help me ๐ i shal b very thank ful..
Hi Mehak, have you been to your doctor yet the confirm that the lumps are fibroadenoma (FA) or cysts? FAs can easily be reduced through dietary and lifestyle changes. Evening primrose oil (http://shop.body-in-balance.org/products/pure-evening-primrose-oil-softgels) have shown some great results and poke root oil or castor oil (http://shop.body-in-balance.org/products/natural-jamaican-castor-oil) may help with pain and tenderness. Make sure to keep an eye on the website as I’m working on a free ebook (which will be finished in less than 2 weeks) to help fight FAs without surgery. Take care, my friend!
hello ms amy,
i have a huge FA (5cm) in my right breast, i’ve changed my diet since a month ago. no meat, no dairy poducts, no soy, no refined sugar. but to deal with my craving, i still eat potato cattle cooked and mushroom crips . it is written for vegan, no additive chemical compounds, no sugar. is it still healthy??
i also take 3 tbsp of raw honey , 2 tbsp organik palm sugar everyday. is it still safe??
since i’ve changed my diet, i no longer feel any pain or discomfort. but i dont see any shrinkage of my FA.
may i know how big your lump was? and how many months did you need to get your lump smaller ?? thankyou !
Hi Tiur, my FA was about half of yours, it was a bit bigger than 1 inch or 2.5 cm, and it took me just over a month and a half the start feeling the difference and a few months to shrink completely. Same for the cysts I had. How long it takes for the FA to shrinks differs from women to women. It depends on hormones, lifestyle, etc. But you are doing a great job. For me, it also started with pain reduction. In the beginning, it was causing a lot of pain as all my breast glands were swollen too. Couldn’t stand a bra. After 2 weeks the swollen glands reduced in size and they pain started to get better and after a 1.5 month, I could feel a difference. As for the potato cattle, not sure what you mean by that. Mushroom crisp, if deep-fried, watch out for hydrogenated oils, if they use them. Honey and raw palm sugar are ok in moderation, although if you can go without it is always better. Veggie sticks and hummus or guacamole, fruits, green smoothie, chia pudding, avocado mouse, etc are all good option to fight cravings. Like mentioned in the article, try and eliminate as much processed food as possible, even if it is vegan. But you are on the right track with your diet I hear! Well done. Take care!
Hi Ms Amy ,
My name is Angel and i visited an OB doctor yesterday because I noticed something in my right boob . Actually, i’m not sure but I already have this since last year and this is the only time i got the courage to visit a doctor. And she told me that i have a 4cm FA (right) side of my boob . When i had my ultrasound : There is no architectural distortion seen. No skin thickening noted and No enlarged lymph nodes seen. And the impression was SOLID MASSES, AS DESCRIBED , LEFT 12- 1 AND RIGHT 10 O’CLOCK WHICH MAYBE DUE TO FIBROADENOMAS. LOBULATED SOLID MASS WITH COLOR FLOW, RIGHT 8-10 O’CLOCK POSITION.
BIRADS 4: LOW SUSPICION FOR A NON-BENIGN PROCESS.
The doctor suggested excision biopsy . And honestly, i’m really scared .. And i dont want to have a surgery .. I would like to ask for your help. What would be the best natural treatment for my case ?
Hi Angel, lumps and bumps can indeed be very scary. Often they are benign and simple lifestyle, and dietary changes can do a lot to shrink them naturally. However, if doctors are not sure, a biopsy might be needed to identify the lumps. If benign, no surgery will be required. Also, there are other ways than a total removal of the lumps to take a biopsy (stereotactic or ultrasound-guided guided). I’m just finishing a free ebook with more info about FAs and their conventional and natural treatment. It will be finished in a week. So make sure to subscribe to a newsletter to make sure you’ll get notified when it is ready. Take care!
hi amy … thank you for your quick reply.
im sorry it wasnt cattle cooked but kettle cooked potatoes, hhahaa.
it doesnt use hidrogenated oil. but yes deep fried. is it healthy for breast lumps? thank you..
You can eat them in moderation. However, I would limit processed foods as much as possible. Have you tried making your own veggie crisps in the oven or dehydrator? Very yummy and healthier alternative.
Hi Amy, this is Juliana, I have written to you twice. Yesterday, I had a follow-up ultrasound on the multiple small lumps in my breasts. Good news! One of the lump has disappeared and others have slightly reduced in size (ranging 3mm-6mm). I attest that diet and exercise really affect the lumps and how our body works and reacts. I would like to thank you for this meaningful article because it really helps to improve my conditions. Although I am not able to follow exactly 100% of it, but cutting off sugars and sweet stuff, dairy and soy products, meat and processed food really make my body more healthy. I still eat some simple carbs, like white rice. I need to get of to work very early on weekdays and do not have time to cook. Here in Malaysia, white rice is a much preferred choice than brown rice. So all eating places have white rice instead of brown rice. However, I cook and eat brown/wild rice if I am at home not working. And I also try to have more portion of veggies and fruits than rice. Is this alright? I would like to know what is the best way to eat veggies? I juice everyday. On top of that, any other good ways to prepare instead of eating raw (unable to tolerate eating some raw veggies for example celery, broccoli, etc)? In fact, I am struggling trying to eat healthy because most places do not provide healthy food. I look forward to your e-book on how to help fight fibroadenoma. I am sure it will help a lot of women especially those struggling with it. Keep me posted. Thank you again, Amy. Have a great weekend and God bless.
Hi Juliana,
I’m so happy for you and thanks for keeping me updated on the progress! I know what you mean. White rice is everywhere her in Cambodia too. Have you tried green smoothies yet for breakfast? You can even pre-prep them for a whole week or longer (click here for more info: http://www.body-in-balance.org/blog/nutrition/make-ahead-smoothies/), and if you add some coconut oil to it it will fill you up (click here for more info: http://www.body-in-balance.org/blog/nutrition/meal-replacement-green-smoothie/). Many people add coconut oil to their morning coffee to curb appetite, and it actually works, we add it to nearly all our morning smoothies.
Having more portions of fruits and vegs is definitely good, especially if that means eating less rice. It is not that you can’t eat white rice at all, but the portion of fruits and especially veggies should take up most of your plate, which is very different from the Asian eating patterns. Here in Cambodia many eat places offer rice with a tiny bit of vegetables, while it should be the other way around. But that’s hard to tell them here as they love their white rice!!! Juicing is excellent however, if possible it is better to blend the fruits instead of juicing as juicing removes all the fiber. As for eating out in Asia, no solution for that. Struggling with that myself and often get the funny looks when I ask for fresh juices or smoothies without the addition of sugar.. they don’t seem to be able to get their heads around it while diabetes is becoming a severe issue here. Also, we try to stay away from places that use MSG as a flavoring. It is a great topic and will research it more. We eat a lot at home, but I’ll try and put some eating out in Asia tips together. Take care, my beautiful friend. It is my pleasure to be of any help.
Btw Amy, how do I subscribe to the newsletter? I wish to be notified when its ready.
You can subscribe to get a recipe eBook or green smoothie eBook (see links below) and then you’ll automatically get notified via the weekly newsletter when it is ready. Should be somewhere next week.

Hi i have a benign tumor in my breast and i was wondering is it possible to get cosmetic surgery without removing tumor or can i do both at the same time.
Thank you
Hi Nancy, talk to your surgeon about this. If you’re getting a cosmetic breast surgery, it may be a good idea to take the tumor out as he’s gonna have to make an incision anyway. Take care!
Hi ms Amy, I posted already inquiry about FA 2 mos ago. I didnt do excision. I just keep watching my diet vegan diet no rice at all no carbs. and i take minerals too and vitamin e. can i ask if can i take calcium (organic supplement) is it okay even if I have FA? or can it worsen the FA?
Hi Madel, that’s great. Diet can do so much in terms of our health. You can still take calcium supplements if you need them. However, if you are eating a well-balanced healthy diet (and have no deficiencies) there is actually no need to take calcium supplements. The truth is that taking any calcium in excess or without complementary nutrients like magnesium, vitamin D and vitamin K2 can have adverse effects, such as calcium build-ups in arteries or it may induce breast calcifications. For FAs vitamin E and iodine are very important.
Feel free to download my free eBook”Natural Treatment for Fibroadenoma” (http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/) for more info. Take care.
hello ma’am,
i am just 21 year and before an year i was diagnosed with breasts fibroadenoma disease , i have lumps in both the breast. before an year i had only 1 lump in right breast and 2 lumps in left breast but after an year i did went mammography and found out that now i have 5 lumps in left breast and 2 in right breast. My doctor has assured that all the lumps are 100% non-cancerous and i have lumps of maximum size 18mm .. even i have a lump in my left axilla.. my doctor has told me that if the size of the lumps gets bigger, surgery would be needed.. My homeopathic doctor told me because of the high level of estrogen i have developed lumps in my breast..As of right now i am undergoing homeopathic medication.. Many a times my left breast pains..
I am very scared having so many lumps.. I really dont want to go under any surgery ..Please suggest me right diet and exercises to follow and i am vegetarian..Even i am underweight according to my age because the high level of estrogen is burning all my fat..
Ma’am please suggest me right diet, exercises and even do’s and dont’s……
Hi Dhara Doshi, a healthy lifestyle can do a lot. I wrote a free ebook about how to cure fibroadenomas naturally and how to balance estrogen levels. You can download it here: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/ Take care my friend!
Hello Amy! I just visited a doctor last friday, he said that the lump in my left breast is fibroadenoma and I need to undergo excisional biopsy. I wonder why he didnt suggest to have an utrasound, should I get a second opinion? What should I do? Thanks!
Hi there. A second opinion is always a good idea, especially when they suggest surgery. Normally they always do an ultrasound first. Also, there are better ways to take a biopsy which does not involve surgery. If you haven’t done so yet, feel free to download my free ebook (http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/) for more info on this. It talks about both, the conventional and natural methods. Take care!
Hi.
11 years ago I had lump of about 13 cms and 11 cms in left and right breast which was removed through surgery. 5 years back again the lump was detected on my right side of breast. I am on homeopathy treatment since then.. but there is not much difference. Now I am 27 .I will surely follow up diet. Please suggest something for immediate cure
Hi Neha, changing lifestyle, reducing stress and eating lots of fresh, organic vegetables and fruits is the best way to reduce their size. However, these lumps didn’t come there overnight, so don’t expect them to be gone in a few days. It takes anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months to reduce FAs in size. Vitamin E, primrose oil, and iodine supplements can help you with the discomforts. Have you downloaded the free ebook yet? There is a lot of helpful information in there: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/ Take care!
hi doc i have been diagnose with six fibroadenomas and february 2016 it remove after a few months month of august i notice again a lump in my breast.. what i will do now?do i need to undergo again surgery?? honestly i’m using contraceptive diane.. if it is affecting to produce fibroadenomas what i need to do for birth control?? please help me..thank you
Hi Roby, I really feel for you. For so many women who undergo surgery, FAs come back after a few months or years because the root cause has not been cured. FAs have many causes and the contraceptive pill and nutrition definitely play a significant role. If you are not planning to get pregnant in the coming few years, the copper coil is the best contraceptive methods out there. Make sure it is the copper coil though as they have a hormone coil too which can make things worse. Apart from that nutrition is crucial too. If you haven’t done so yet, don’t forget to download my free ebook for more info: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/ Take care!

You’re welcome! You can buy evening primrose oil (http://amzn.to/2bd9t1t) for massage too or use the softgel capsules. Progesterone cream or primrose oil can indeed be used to massage your breast and reduce the pain. I haven’t heard of any side effects.
Hi doctor. How does sauna affect fibroadenoma. Thanks.
Hi Tatiana, nothing wrong with taking a sauna. It can even help you body in it elimination process of toxins. Take care!
Hi, i had fibroadenoma surgery 4 days before. Now im afraid ,will it come back again? Is there any treatment for prevent fibrodenoma again after surgery? Still am very scary about it . Is it a chance of being breast cancer later?
Hi Nasneen, if you eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly chances will be very slim that the FAs will come back. The same methods to shrink FAs can be used to prevent them. So feel free to download the FREE ebook for more info (http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/). Only on very rare occasions, FAs are cancerous, but you should not worry as yours have been taken away. However, keep screening your breast regularly and if you feel new lump or changes, make sure to contact your doctor to get them checked. Take care!
is still there is chance of increasing lumps? after surgery i came to hair medicine show side effects. can you guide in this matter?
Hi Nupur, not sure what you mean. Lumps can increase in size if the diet is not right or other triggers (such as medicines) may cause an increase in lumps too.
Hi
Thanks for the articles. I want to ask about this caffeine thing. I used to drink green tea once a day. Is it bad for my diet?
Thanks
Hi Dewi, green tea is a great beverage with many healing properties. However, for some people, it might make Fibroadenomas worse due to the small amounts of caffeine or theine. But if that is not the case you can go up to 3 to 5 cups a day!
Hello,
I was wondering how I can avoid birth control when it is an important part of my life. Is there any other safe way for protection except condoms? It helped me to adjust spotting over last 6 months. However, they said the fibroadenoma got slightly bigger over the 6 years and they recommend regular 6 month check ups.
Hello Mila, a non-hormonal copper coil is the safest and non-chemical way! If you haven’t done so yet, don’t forget to download my free booklet about how to prevent and cure fibroadenomas naturally: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/ Take care!
hi amy, I read your articles and really get motivated by it. thanks to you, now I feel hopeful ๐ actually this month I get diagnosed of having 6 FA & 1 cyst, it doesn’t painful, and I accidentally knew it while I did breast USG
It really made me shocked and sad, I feel like my life has changed. I went to doctor once and he said that my lumps should be taken as soon as possible, I feel really scared to imagine the surgery process. then I met another doctor for 2nd opinion, this one is better than the 1st doctor, he said I dont need to take any surgery, because he didnt sure that all the 6 lumps are FA’s, there’s possibility that they are cysts or fat. I really glad to hear that, and I just need to observe until a few months later. But the doctor said, there’s no diet as well, I can eat anything I want.
I got really confused, but for me I need to take diet, eat healthy food and exercise as well.. But here in my country in Indonesia, we always cook using salt and sugar and sometimes soy sauce. Do u have any recommendation alternative sugar for cooking? is it ok if I use soy sauce? & is it ok to eat seafood?
Thank you so much
Hi Dena, I hear you! I have been living in Cambodia the past 2 years and here they use a lot of sugar too. It is even that bad that many people now struggle with diabetes. It is ok to eat seafood and soy sauce in moderation. The most important thing is eating a lot of vegetables and fruits and avoid using too much sugar. You can use honey instead but remember that is sugar too. Also, if Indonesia is anything like Cambodia, make sure the portion of rice you eat at every meal is smaller than the portion of vegetables. Or try and eat rice only for dinner or lunch. Opt for brown rice too instead of white rice. Rice, jus as any other grain is packed with carbohydrates which are long chains of sugar molecules. Take care!
Thank you Amy!! You’re such a wonderful soul to make time and respond to everyone in no time. This sure it’s a redundant post but cudnt help conveying. No need to reply ๐ ur time’s precious. just a token of respect for your good nature. God bless ๐
Thanks Nisha! It is my pleasure to help people and spread the healthy lifestyle vibe.
hii doctor what is a best medicine to control fibroadima my doctor suggeste sevista medicine after sugary ..
Hi Kiran, food, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle are the best way to control Fibroadenoma and make sure they do not come back after the surgery. Feel free to download my free ebook for more info about which food you can eat and which food to avoid. (http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/) Take care!
Hi, i am 23 yrs . i had multiple fibriadenomas removed through sergery. There is a posibility of another fibroadenoma becoz it was multiple. I accept your diet chat but is it to follow this for life time??
Hi Shona, a diet high in vegetables and low in animal products and processed foods will not only help you prevent and cure fibroadenomas, it gives you the best chance to avoid other diseases and ailments too. This doesn’t mean you can have a cheat day or moment once in a while. Take care!
That means i should be vegiterian .
Not necessarily. But meat shouldn’t be part of every dish. We are flexitarian and eat meat or fish in about 3 meals a week (for more info: http://www.body-in-balance.org/blog/flexitarian-or-semi-vegetarianism/). It is all about finding your balance and see what works for you and take it further from there.

Thanx. I will try my best to be vegetarian. Thanx a lot.:)
Hi Amy,
Please let me know the remedies for the breast pains I’m experiencing, thanks Amy
Hi Karl, have you downloaded the free ebook (http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/)? There is a chapter about how to ease breast pain. Progesterone cream or evening primrose are 2 good examples. Take care!
hello amy, im only 20 yrs old but i have fibroadenoma in my right breast. and its almost 3 months until now im suffering for always paining specially when my period is coming. is it ok if i take both evening primrose and vitamin e? also i have a problem about my period. before its 6 to 7 days but now only 2 or 3 days. ๐
Hi Rochelle, you can take both. When you are in your twenties it is common to have FAs and struggle with irregular periods as your body goes through hormonal changes. Make sure to avoid hormone disruptors such as soy and coffee. Also, make sure to eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, and try to destress if you are under a lot of pressure. Take care!
Hi
I have Fibroadenomas in both breasts, but some of the fibroadenomas hurt more than the others, is that normal? I’m afraid that maybe its not a fibroadenoma even though my doctor said it was. Should I get a second opinion?
Hi EC, it could be that some FAs hurt more than others. You could go for a second opinion if that would put your mind at ease.
I have done surgery 3 times .. and nw i realized there is another tumour in my right breast. I’m really scared to undergo a surgery again.. and didnt meet my doctor yet.. because i know definetly they wil ask me to do a surgery to remove it.. there is no any other way than removing it is it ? Because i knw it really exist nw in my breast..
Hi Liyana, if it is a tumor the doctors may indeed decide to do surgery. However, make sure to get it checked. If the lump is a benign fibroadenoma or cyst, then surgery can be avoided. Take care, and I’ll cross my fingers for you!
Hi amy, is it okay if i change meat into fish by everyday? Then regarding with sugar, is it okay to eat banana 1-2 pcs everyday?
Hi Meiliana, It is ok to eat a banana every day (if you are not trying to lose weight). You can change meat for fish but make sure it comes from a reliable source (nor farm raised). Also, try to swap meat/fish protein with plant protein (chickpeas, lentils, etc) for at least one day a week. You don’t have to become a vegetarian, bur reducing meat intake has a tremendous effect on health. Take care!
Hi amy,im 30years old but i have fam in right breast for this 3months. I have tried to follow your lifestyle but i still step by step change my white rice into brown rice, btw is it okay if i change meat into fish by everyday? Then regarding with sugar, is it okay to eat banana 1-2 pcs everyday? Since everyday in e morning i always blend veggie (kale, wheatgrass, spinach, pockhoy and etc)with banana. But im afraid sweet in banana will causes fam getting worse. Waiting your feedback ๐ Thanks in advance
Hi again! No worries, step-by-step or bite-by-bite is a great approach. And no harm done in blending a banana with your veggies. Such a great way to start your day! Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Reh. I really feel for you and understand your fears. First of all, make sure to visit your doctor and make sure the new lumps are FAs or other non-cancerous tumors. Food and stress have a major impact on the development of FAs and other breast lumps and bumps. Did you download the free eBook? (http://www.body-in-balance.org/confirm-grsm/) There is a lot of information there. Take care and feel free to contact me through my email address if you have more questions after reading the book.
I am 18 yr old Now.
Thank you so much amy, this site has really enlightened me. I will start a healthy lifestyle immediately.
Thank you Noncy! Here to help! If you ever have questions or need feedback, you know where to find me ๐
Hi, Iยดm Cynthia Silva and i would love to know an easy way to remove the fibroadenome in a natural way, i’m from Perรบ, and i’ll be waiting for your answer
Hi Cynthia. A few lifestyle changes can help you out. I have written a free ebook about it (download here: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/). Feel free to read and come back to me if you have more questions or need feedback. Take care!
Hi, I have been dealing with fiber cystic breast since 2002 and have had some lumps removed. Since then I have just been keeping an eye on multiple lumps in both breast…long story short..I found out I was vitamin d deficient and the the doctor put me on 5000iu for 3 months and during that time my small to medium lumps disappeared…and then later formed two large ones..one In each breast. Then, one dissappeared again and now I’m left with one large one in my left breast. The doctors had no idea..so my question is do you know of there is a link between vitamin d deficiency and fibercystic lumps? Thank you
Hi Kiyana. Did you by any chance change something else in your diet or lifestyle at the same time as going on the supplements? Vitamin D plays a key role in many of our bodily processes and has been linked to auto-immune disieseas, cancer, heart diseases, etc. However, research is inconclusive about its role in breast disorders. Most studies don’t find a significant correlation between the two. Some women claim it to help with breast pain 9file:///C:/Users/sandy/Downloads/fulltext-ajnfs-v3-id1066.pdf), though. And one Canadian study detected a higher level of vitamin D intake in women affected by fibrocystic breast changes (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8144312). Hope this helps! Take care!
I have 4 lump in my breast 3 are in right breast and 1 in left. I checked them by my doctor and reports result is fibroadenoma and i am only 19 years old doctor said about surgery and I don’t want to take risk I am thinking about my future you know mam a small scar or spot can destroy a girl life and in my caste no one can understand this kind of diagnosis . Small scar it would be a big problem so please tell me how do i remove this without any surgery please I really need.
Hi Meeta, as a 19 year old your body goes through a lot of hormonal changes. Surgery is often not needed. Simple lifestyle changes and stress reduction can do a lot. Please find more info in my free ebook on how to change your lifestyle and get rid of fibroadenomas naturally. (http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/) Take care.
Hi maam amy..i am dang 42 years old. I just want to share and inquire about what i havein my right breast, it is a hard rounded mass, no pain, it measures about a diameter of 2inches. I noticed recently. Im afraid to see a doctor, i want to let it go naturally? Whats best i can do mam?
Hi Dang! Best is to go to your doctor and make sure the lump is benign. If the lump is a fibroadenoma, simple changes in your lifestyle can do a lot. Please find more info here: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/. Take care!
thanks madam
My pleasure!
Hey, I’m 19 now, and had my first surgery for fibroadenoma at the age of 15 in the right breast. Now it seems to have appeared again, two lobes lobes in right and one in left. My Doc is saying that we should reduce it with drugs, but since they’re multiple i’m worried. Will it be safe enough to just control with medicines or another surgery is needed?
Hi SOHA NAIK. It is not unusual for multiple FAs to appear. Especially when your body is going through hormonal changes. Surgery is indeed not needed unless they are causing a lot of discomforts. Simple lifestyle changes and stress reduction (if you have any) can already to a lot to shrink/reduce the FAs. Feel free to download my FREE ebook for more info: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/ Take care!
Hello.
I am 25 and currently breastfeeding my son of 1.5 years old. I found a fibroadenoma in my right breast around a year ago and it has not increased in size. But I have noticed that the size of the right breast has increased and there is another movable lump in right breast.
Is it something to worry about? and will it go away when stops feeding?
Hi AR,
As you are going through a lot of hormonal changes, it can be normal for FAs to develop. They might indeed go away after breastfeeding, however, make sure you don’t add extra estrogens to your body (soy, birth control pill, etc.). FA develop mainly under estrogen dominance. Also, stress, little to no exercice, and poor lifestyle habits are important contributors. If they are causing any discomforts and pain evening primrose soft gels or progesterone cream may help you out. Take care!
PS: don’t forget to download the FREE ebook for more info on how to reduce them in size naturally (
Hello Ma’am,
Im also suffering from these fibroadenomas.
Can they be completely dissolved by following a vegan diet and a good exercise regime?
Hi there. It doesn’t need to be a vegan diet (unless you are a vegan of course). But yes diet and lifestyle changes play a powerful role in reducing FAs. If you opt for vegan or vegetarian diet, make sure to stay away from soy products as your protein source such as soy yogurt, veggie burgers made with soy, tofu, etc. It raises estrogen levels which can worsen the condition. Don’t forget to download the free ebook if you haven’t done soy yet. Also here’s an article (http://www.body-in-balance.org/blog/phytoestrogens-side-effects/) about phytoestrogen foods you should avoid. Take care!
My wife has a 6+cm lump in her breast. The breast Dr. says it needs to be removed and that it will be about 1/3 of her breast. We have spoken with 2 natural path Drs. in our area who say to get the lump removed and then they will treat my wife’s body with Vit-C drip and other immune system boosters treatments.
Aside from a diet described above, would you recommend anything else?
Hi Scott,
Not sure about the vitamin drip! While boosting your immune system is essential for overall health, and will def not cause any harm, the immune system is not the villain when it comes to fibroadenomas or other hormone-induced breast lumps and bumps. High-dose IV vitamin C has shown to be beneficial for some treatments of cancerous tumors; there are documented cases of high-dose IV vitamin C actually curing cancer. However, in your wife’s case, the lump will already be removed when they start the treatment.
So the most important thing will be making sure the lump doesn’t come back. Diet, hormones, and lifestyle factors like stress play a major role. My lumps were caused by eating soy products which contain high levels of phytoestrogen and FAs are believed to be caused by estrogen dominance so adding more estrogen to my body worsened the condition. Reduced all soy intake and my lump dissolved itself. However, other dietary habits or lifestyle factors play a role and it will be important for your wife to remove these culprits that caused the lump to grow in the first place.
If the root cause isn’t tackled chances are the lump will come back. Feel free to download the free ebook (as preventing measures for FAs and breast lumps are the same as the measures taken to reduce them in size) and read my blog post about phytoestrogen foods. There is a lot information in there on how to balance hormones and avoid breast lumps.

Hello Ma’am
Ma’am,instead of dairy products (which is bad for fibroadenoma)can we include sorghum and finger millet in our diet so that we get atleast some amount of calcium for bones?
Yes you can! However, as with any whole grain, moderation is key.
quiz:l have a lump on my breast and at times l experience chest pains l don’t know what l am suffering from?could u help me pliz
Hi Vivian, Breast lumps can be different things and can indeed cause chest pain. Have you been to your doctor yet? Before you can proceed with any treatment, conventional or natural, it is important to know what the lump exactly is. So if you haven’t done so yet, make an appointment with your doctor and get it checked. Take care.
Hello. I am a huge believer that diet can change everything. I was diagnosed with a lump 8 months ago that the doctor thought to be a fibroadenoma. I just went back for a check up and it has grown over 20%. They want to do a biopsy, and I normally would try to see if I can fix it naturally first, but my lymph nodes in my armpit on the same side my lump is on have been swollen for about 1 year. So, my question is, have you ever heard of benign fibroadenomas causing this? Or is that something that would happen more with breast cancer? Thanks for your advice!
Hi Elysia, swollen lymph nodes don’t necessarily mean cancer or heightened risk. I had them for several months when my body was going through a few hormonal changes, and most months I still have swollen nodes around my period. Hormonal changes can also be the cause for FAs to develop, so it might very well be that it is causing lymph nodes to swell too. The results of the biopsy will tell you more. Take care!
Last sunday, I discovered a lump in my areola. It is small, inside my skin and painful when touched. I take some antibiotics and now on my 4th day, it become smaller and painless. I’m planning to see my doctor next week to get it checked, though.
Last year, 2016, I eliminate meat from my diet. I usually eat vegetables and sometimes fish and egg. ๐ I’ve never had any lumps before. Do I need to eliminate fish and egss.
Hi Juh, I’m happy to hear the lump is shrinking in size! As for your question, there is no need to eliminate fish or eggs from your diet. Just as high-quality unprocessed lean meat (organic and hormone-antibiotic free), fish and eggs can be part of a well-balanced healthy diet. Keep up the good work!
I have a breast lump of size 37ร24 mm it has been 1 year since i am on homeopathic medication and there are no significant results yet…doctors are recommending surgery but i don’t wont to have surgery considering its side effects.Could u plz suggest me what to do and can following this routine help me get rid of the lump??
Hi zuha altaf, is the lump confirmed as an FA or another benign lump? Lifestyle and dietary changes can do a lot. Also, the lump is rather small, so if it is benign and not causing any discomforts, there is no reason to remove it. Have you downloaded the free ebook? There is a lot of information there regarding treating FA or breast lumps the natural way. EBook: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/ Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
hi
i am 25 years old and i am having multiple fiberoadenomas in both breasts from last 6 years these lumps are increasing in number and become more painfull.i tried to skip meat and milk products from my diet but the thing is ;by skipping these foods i got frail and lost many kgs body weight plz tell me what diet plan should i follow to get rid from these fibroadenomas .
hi,i am saran,22 years old and i am having multiple fiberoadenomas in only right breast side..lumps are increasing 2.size 1.2*1.6*0.8*0.6…i had surgery in one time but docter asked another surgery so i will fear in my life for another surgery.so what i do medam…it solved naturally, not in surgery medam….
Hi Saran, for some women it is normal to develop breast lumps and bumps when they are going through hormonal changes. Dietary and lifestyle changes may help you to reduce them in size. Did you download my free ebook(http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/)? There is a lot of information in there to help you out. If the FAs are causing pain and a lot of discomforts, surgery might sometimes be inevitable. Take care my friend and if you have more questions you may always send me an email or contact me through the comment section on the website.
Hi Mam,
My wife has fiberoadenomas in both breast since 2014. We have consulted our Doc she told us to leave that as that is not harmful. Then my wife become pregnant and on this Jan, 2017 we had a wonderful baby girl. She has been feeding since then but now one of tumour (fiberoadenomas) in left is quit more painful. Toady there is also a pus like secretion. As my wife is feeding a baby so using your recommended diet chart will be helful or she may take Dairy Project and sugers ?? Provided that she is pure Veg.
Hi Amiya, congrats on your beautiful baby girl. Going through pregnancy and breastfeeding causes a lot of hormonal changes which may be responsible for the discomfort she’s having. You can always try the evening primrose capsules or progesterone mentioned in the free eBook and article. For many women, thois has helped reduce the pain. However, if your wife is still breastfeeding, make sure to see with your doctor if that will not interfere. Also, diet can do a lot. However, if she doesn’t eat meat or dairy, make sure she get enough healthy fats and protein as her body needs those to produce milk. Sugar should indeed be avoided at all cost and soy products too. Take care!
hi mam, i am 20 yrs, i am having a single fiberoadenomas in my left breast side, dr suggest go for operation, i need your help without operation is possible to cure, kindly help me mam. thanks
Hi Zeetha. As long as the FA is not causing any issues or deformities, an operation is not needed. Dietary and lifestyle changes can do a lot. Did you download the free ebook? There is tons of info there to helo you out: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/
Take care!
Mam, Tnx for your reply on 15th, (My Zeetha on 14th post), FA size is around 5cm of my left breast, pls tell me for either go for an operation or medicine or exercise. Tnx
Hi! I’m liza i have a family history of breast cancer my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2002 she died in 2006 at the age of 65 2002, while my 2 aunties still on mother side survive with stage 2. I have 3 normal delivery yr 2000, 2001 and 2005 and 1 ectopic pregnancy yr 2003. Late last year i felt something on my left breast but did not mind it coz i have my period. But on feb of 2017 before i have my period i felt the lumps in my left breast with heavy and i bit painful breast. I did my own self breast exam and search the net. I am now 50 still have a period and i always take centrum silver for 5 yrs i also drink warm lemon water daily. I was advise by an OB to have a mammo and ultrasound. The result a 2x 1.5cm fibroadenoma in ultrasound while in mamo its 2.1×2.5 cm fibroadenoma also. The physical examination of the surgeon was this: localised swelling, mass and lump unspecified. Neoplasm of uncertain or unknown behavior of breast. His advised incision biopsy of the lumps. Do i need to have a second opinion? I’m not ok with surgery. I just find out that it will still come back. Is it right if i try the natural treatment for fibroadenoma even i have a family history? Thanks so much for your help.
Hi Liza, I’m so sorry to hear. My aunt recently went through an aggressive type of breast cancer too, and I have always struggled with my period and breast lumps and bumps, luckily always benign. A second opinion never hurts. Also, because of your family history, it might we wise to confirm that the lumps are indeed fibroadenomas through a biopsy. Just to be sure. Take care.
I’m 34yrs and I suffer from breast cysts( fibrocystic) from 3yrs with strong pain. Its start to apear after 3 months of taking birth control to balance the period. It’s 6 cysts in each Breast. I have taken evening promise and vitamin e for 3 months, the doctor advise me to start again taking this supplement after 6 months. Before I have pain most of time, but now it’s too much bette. on February 2017 I have mad an ultrasound to check the cysts again, some of them is bigger 1.7 and some are not, but also I get one with calcification. I’m very depressed now. Also, I can’t elimant milk because the calcusim level is low most of the time. I add salad to my dinner too as it’s in my lunch. Could thos cyst dispear by it self?, what shall I do to get ride from cysts and calcification?
Hi Maria, Just as for the treatment of fibroadenomas, lifestyle and dietary changes may help you to get rid of (and avoid new) cysts naturally. Are you still on the birth control pills? It seems that they might be the cause of the issue. Also, milk in moderation is ok, just make sure it comes from a reliable source. Are you eating a lot of soy products or drinking a lot of coffee by any change? That may be the cause too. Furthermore, they are many other ways (foods and supplements to meet your calcium needs: http://www.body-in-balance.org/blog/risks-and-benefits-of-calcium-supplements/). Take care!
Thanks for your response. I stop using brith control from long time after I get cysts, also usually I didn’t drink coffee or eating soy products. I drink decafineen green tea once a weak and I stop adding suger to drinks. As mention in the book, I have to avoid eating pastry, white rice, red meat,… but I didn’t want to lose weigh. Thanks a lots.
Hi Amy!
I have fibroadenoma for the past 10 years and im 26 years old now.Until few months ago i had no pain but these days i have burning sensations, pain in my breast. As per the doctors advise i took estrogen, vit B17 and vit D3 tests.I have a vit D3 level of 13ng/ml which indicates deficiency. Im concerned about the pain mostly and sometimes i feel both my breasts are hurting though i have FA in only the left side. This is after 2 weeks from my period!
Priyanka! Thanks for sharing your story with us. Since that there is strong evidence that FAs are caused by estrogen dominance (which means too much of it in your body) I find it odd that your doctor recommends estrogen supplementation. Maybe you should talk with him again. For the pain, vitamin E capsules (http://amzn.to/2oGFf0V), progesterone cream (http://amzn.to/2oMafd5) or evening primrose soft gel capsules (https://shop.body-in-balance.org/products/pure-evening-primrose-oil-softgels) have helped many women in the past with breast pain. Take care and I hope you may find a solution soon.
Hi amy,
I am 29 years old and recently I diagnosed with fibroadenoma in my left breast. And doc suggested me of excision biopsy. My ultrasound report is as follow;
Skin and sub cutaneous tissue overlying breast is normal.
Breast parenchyma in mid upper quadrant just above /superior to nipple & area there is a rounded well defined hypoechoic mass lesion 2.74cm*2.74cm size . Mass has peripheral blood supply &flow is of high impedance.
No other mass seen. Breast Parenchyma looks normal.
No other lesion of altered echogenicity is delineated .
The retro mammary region appears normal.
No tenderness on pressing probe.
No abnormal lymph nodes seen in left axilla.
Is biopsy the only way of treatment or it cured by natural treatment? Or by changing my diet?
Please help me out.
Hi there, in most cases surgery is not needed if the FA isn’t causing any issues. Dietary and lifestyle changes (such as NO stress, processed food, or soy products) can do a lot. I was able to reduce FA to the size of a rice grain, these days I don’t even feel it anymore. Soy, coffee, and stress were my main triggers. For more info download my free ebook here: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/
Take care!
Hi Janvi, you’re welcome. Happy to help! Vitamin E is good and will not cause any issues. It may help with the pain and control of FAs. Take care!
hi Amy,
Thank you so much for taking a great time and effort to attend to all of us with FA.
I have had results after mamography and ultrasound today that I have a 1.6 x 0.5 x 1.3cm solid lession possible FA on the right breast and a few 0.5~0.7cm possible fat necrosis.
The result also said my breasts are dense. Dr has scheduled a check up after 6 months.
I have always had tendon to little painful and inreased sized breasts before period or while pregnant. But this time, I m not pregnant and it has been 10 days after my period that they continue feeling the pain and lumpy.
Agree with you about all diet advices. And I eat a lot of vegies and fruits and have a low low sugar diet.
And I have this question can you please help: many articles and researchs read that green tea or black tea if not over consumed is benificial for health and Im a regular tea person averaged 2-4 cups/day. Will FA get no benefit or worse if I continue drinking 2-4 cups/day?
Sometime I add to my tea home prepared frozen fresh lemon, lemonglass, ginger and tumeric slices to my tea or brew them as is.
HI Jennifer,
Green tea in moderation is indeed a great addition to your diet. However, when struggling with FAs it is better to not drink too much. Tea also contains caffeine which can make things worse. 2 cups should be fine, or you could also leave it for a week and see if the pain and FAS get better, If not than you know it is not the tea that is causing issues for you. For the pain and tenderness, you could try primrose oil capsules, progesterone cream, or vitamin E supplements.

Hi Amy,
Just have ultrasound , found two lumps with size less than one cm. doc said is not cancerous lump. Suggested to have biopsy, surgery removal or just follow up screening. At the moment, I decide go for four or six months follow up. Feeling depress, dunno what to do. After read your ebook, start to change my diet plan. Wanna get your advice, can I have sweet potatoes in my diet plan?
Hi Jamie, Sweet potatoes are ok. Diet and lifestyle changes can do a lot!I know how you must feel. Are you under a lot of stress? This is a great contributor too! Take care!
Hi Amy,
Thank you so much for your advice! By the way, can I have egg in my diet plan?
Yes, am really have a lot of stress either before or after got to know I have breast lump. Am 38 yrs old, a working mother. I got two kids. Never take birth control pil or any drugs. But last year I took three bottles of slimming pil. Husband did not know. Now feel regret as could be the pil make me got lump. Go thru papsmear and breast screening every year, never skip. Day time working, night time have to take care my kids studying and do house chore. My colleague used to call me Iron Lady.
After doctor tell me got two lumps, I felt like going to die soon. Unacceptable! Feel very down. But I have to be tough as my kid still small. I have read through a lot about breast lump information. I also try to use essential oil frankincense and lavender apply on my lumps. Hope miracle come. Thanks again!
These lumps are nothing to worry about. Stress is a major contributor. Try to add some peace and calmness to your life. Yoga or meditation is great for that! You can still eat eggs but in moderation (meaning not more than 1 every day or every other day). I’ll cross my fingers for you and again… I know it is hard but there is no need to worry about these lumps. frankincense and lavender are great essential oil. Myrrh can be used too. Take care, my gorgeous friend!
I stumbled upon Amy’s blog while searching information about your condition. I now have better understanding what you are going through. Please rest assured I will be here for you.
Hi Amy,
Hope everything is well.
I undergone a surgery operation 10 months ago with fibroadenoma on my left breast and fibrocystic on my right. However 2 weeks ago I can again feel lump on my left breast. I don’t have a check- up yet I’m working in the ship and going home in 2 days. Some people told me that the result might different from the previous result and I’m afraid, is it true? Your advice is a big help. Gobless
Thank you
Lourdes
Hi Lourdes, FAs tend to come back in many women after they were surgically removed. So chances are quite high the new lump is a FA. Nonetheless, you should pay your doctor a visit to confirm it is nothing else! Breast lumps are scary business and I really feel for you! Take care.
hello there,
I’m turning 16 by this year and I’d a surgery of fibroadenoma at the age of 15(before a year) and after the surgery i’m still having another lump on the next side again! Is this dangerous? so much worried bout this can you help me out to recover or suggest any thing to control/
Hi Erani, FAs are normal when women are going through hormonal changes. There are many natural ways to control, prevent, and reduce them in size. Did you download the free ebook? There is a lot of info there: http://www.body-in-balance.org/natural-treatment-fibroadenoma/
Take care!
will be downloading it today!
Thankyou for the suggestion <3
My pleasure! If you have more questions, you know where to find me ๐
Hi…i read ur article about fibroaedonoma. I have a multiple fibroaedonoma and i already done mammogram. The result is benign. But my female surgeon doctor advice me to observed within 6 months then i will do ultrasound again if the size is more than 2cm.If it will be increase 2cm then doctor advised to remove it. Im having a fibroaedonoma since 2008 but i just monitored every 6 months through ultrasound until 2012. I was stopped doing ultrasound because my past surgeon doctor recommendation to FNA(Fine needle aspiration) to get some sample of solid mass then biopsy. But i refused to do that. After that i didnt make follow up check up. But recently i decided to follow up check up. I chose a specialist female surgeon in breast doctor. As i mention in the beginning doctor said observation for 6 months if the size is increase or not. So im searching for ideas on how to increase my fibroaedonoma. Because i dont want having operation because im a typically keloidal person. So i hope u can give me a tips about my problem. Im sorry for my long statements.Thank you.
Hi Ma.Elvira O. Abasolo! There are many ways to reduce FAs naturally. Mostly diet and exercise related. Did you download the free ebook? Here’s the link:

Hello Amy,
I am 19 yrs old and have 3 small lumps in my breasts, 2 in my left breast and 1 in my right breast. I would love to include more vegetables and fruits in my diet but I love meat. Can I at least have meat every weekend?
Sure you can, no need to eliminate all meat or fish, just make sure they come from a reliable antibiotic and hormone free source. Take care!
Hi Amy,
thanks a lot for your informative ebook. I do have multiple FAs and had one removed earlier this year. I want to ask about flaxseed. It seems like I get mixed opinions about the impact of flaxseeds consumption to people with FAs. Can you please clarify on this?
Thanks a lot.
Love from Indonesia,
Tabhita
Hi Tabhita, My pleasure! Anything I can do to help people live a healthy and happy life makes me happy too. FA can be caused by different things and for some women, it might be wise to go easy on flax seeds because they contain phytoestrogens. Since they believe FAs can be caused by estrogen dominance adding yet more estrogen to your body can aggravate the condition. Here’s an article that might interest you: http://www.body-in-balance.org/blog/phytoestrogens-side-effects/
Take care!
Thank u so much Amy . U just made my day ๐
Glad to know the information I’m sharing is helping you live a healthy and happy life!
HI AMY, HOW ARE YOU?
MY GF HAVE RIGHTSIDE BREAST TINY FIBERADENOMA . BUT LEFT SIDE IS BREAST IS SO PAINING. DOCTORS SAY EAT HEALTHY FOODS. PAIN IS NOT GOING. WHEN LEFT SIDE IS PUSH PAIN IS START. BUT FIBERADENOMA IS RIGHT SIDE.
Hi Tauseef, healthy food is important and de-stressing too. But for the pain she can try: evening primrose capsules (https://shop.body-in-balance.org/products/pure-evening-primrose-oil-softgels), progesterone cream (http://amzn.to/2szxI5z), or Iodine supplemts (http://amzn.to/2rpL1ln). Take care!
Please can taking fenugreek and fennel seed affect one with fibroadenoma?
H Esther, Fennel might boost estrogen production (estrogen dominance is often associated with FAs), but since it is a condiment you never use it high amounts and you should be fine. Take care.
Hii i am mani.. i am 20yrs old.. i have one fibroadinoma in right side breast and 1.5ร0.9cm. So this lump are remove or not.. then future affect cancer for this problem.
Hi Mani, is it causing a lot of discomforts. If yes than removal might be necessary. Lifestyle and dietary changes can also help you. Feel free to download the free ebook. There is so much info about this in there (https://eatlove.live/free-ebook-natural-treatment-for-fibroadenoma/). Take care.
Hello Amy,
Can sprouts be added in the diet for the ones who have firbroadenoma?
Hello Sushma, bean sprouts contain certain amounts of phytoestrogens which can make things worse. Avoid soy sprouts at all cost. Other ones contain fewer phytoestrogens but should be eaten in moderation too. Here’s an article I wrote about phytoestrogens that might interest you too: https://eatlove.live/phytoestrogens-side-effects/ Take care!
Hello.
I had my surgery on 18 April 2017, right breast( because pain was unbearable sometimes). Now after one year, the same point from where the Fibroadenoma was removed is in pain. Why? Now another Fibroadenoma is there on my left breast and I am on medication. But here too….the pain. I really am unable to bear it sometimes! But I really don’t want to have a surgery. It seems like I am in great pain after having certain food items. So I am avoiding them and want to try above mentioned NATURAL(My father always says’ NATURE IS OUR REAL GOD’).
Because after surgery, my hands( shoulder to wrist) has become big. And only my hands. I don’t want it to be so. Help me. It also seems like I am losing my confidence. I’m really afraid.About what? I don’t know. Seems like you are the first person i am talking about all these. Thank you for giving me your precious time. :]
Hi Anna. Thanks for sharing your story. I am sorry to hear your issues returned. Though surgery can be a great pain reliever, it doesn’t take away the root cause or the thing that caused the FA in the first place. That’s why so many women who did surgery get another FA within a year. Our diet and lifestyle are so important. Your dad is a wise man. Mother earth is so good at healing and preventing diseases. Did you download the free ebook (https://eatlove.live/free-ebook-natural-treatment-for-fibroadenoma/)? Everything you need to know to start changing your diet and lifestyle are in there. You may always email me if you have more questions. Take care
hi, im Asa from Philippines, i have a breast lump in my right breast since i was teen and now im 34 y/o and it still in the same size, its movable… im taking mx3 capsule for a month and it help to normalize my monthly period. can i also take flaxseed oil at the same time?
I wouldn’t recommend taking a lot of flax seed oil as it contains phytoestrogens and may worsen the condition. Take care!
Terminal Diagnosis Cured!!
I am so happy for you! Now it is important to keep up a healthy and active lifestyle to avoid them coming back! Have a beautiful weekend!
Hi Amy,
I been reading your article and it is very helpful. I am 30 years old and was recently diagnosed with FA. I have one in my left breast close to my nipple and about size of a peanut M&M. This news has left me stressed and worried about breast cancer risks. My doctor does not want to remove it but rather watch it and go back in 6 months for a follow up ultrasound.
My doctor did not see my FA as a big deal but rather something that’s common for women my age. I on the other hand have a hard time coping with it.
I decided to make some changes to my lifestyle because I want this lump gone. I have been on birth control for most of my 20s. I think its time to get off. I wanted to ask you what research did you find regarding birth control and FA risks? Also are all teas not recommend to drink? or can I drink caffeine free tea? Is moderation of coffee ok? I am a latte addict ๐
Hi Zuzie,
I am sorry for the late reply, but your doctor is absolutely right. FAs are a common and rather harmless thing many women of your age have to face. Though I understand your concerns as I have been there myself, there is nothing to worry or stress about. Regular follows are mandatory though!
Stress reduction and dietary and lifestyle changes are vital in the prevention and/or reduction of FAs.
Though FAs have many causes, birth control pills are definitely one of them as is soy and caffeine products. Non-caffeine teas are absolutely fine, be careful with dairy in your lattes though! All dairy products should come from an organic source to avoid hormones and other nasty added chemicals that can mess with your hormone balance. Even better is to avoid dairy all together!
Hope this helps. Take care,
Amy
Hi Amy, how long before I should see results? My fibroadenoma has stayed the same size( not bigger or smaller)so far. I have been only making changes for past 2-3 weeks.
Also my doctor was recommending not to get a biopsy and said ultrasound imaging is enough to diagnose it. He said biopsy can cause scar tissue in my breast. He recommend to wait 6 months and if there is any cause for concern at the follow up we can do biopsy. Right now ultrasound imaging diagnose is fibroadenoma.. What’s your experience with that? Did you have a biopsy done?
Hi Zuzie, a biopsy is not needed indeed. They only do this when there is doubt about the lump. Dietary and lifestyle changes are important to avoid new FAs to grow, but they are not a guarantee that the lump will shrink in size. This is different for all women. For me it took a few weeks before I started to notice the lump shrinking. Be patient. Also, if the lump isn’t causing any discomforts and is not growing, there is no need to panic or go through surgery! Take care!
Hi! i’ve been diagnosed today with fibroadenoma, I am in an constant pain, a severe pain where the lump is situated above my nipple, i still don’t know what my doctor would suggest but i diffentely refuse to go to surgery,
my question is, is it okay to go vegan but eat normal veggeis and fruits i mean non organic? or the cure is done only by organic products?
thanks for your help
Hi Amina, just be careful when buying your produce as pesticide residues can worsen the condition. Here’s an article that can help you remove pesticides from your produce: https://eatlove.live/how-to-remove-pesticides-from-produce/ If the pain persists surgery might be your only way out! However, changing your diet and lifestyle will remain important to avoid them from coming back. Take care!
Hi doctor, I’m harsha from india. I’m 21 years old. i have a breast lump in my right breast. It’s very painful. i want any suggestion..please help me..
Hi Harsha, Did you go to your doctor to confirm whether the lump is benign or not? If not that’s is the first thing you should do. Take care!
Doctor…I am Amala from India..Few years ago I found lump on my left breast.Doctor confirmed that it is fibroedenema after taking needle biopsy. She also says that surgery is not needed in my case. Now I am 27 years old i am afraid of thinking about surgery..I am getting scary while thinking about my lump..I am slim..Is there any possibility without surgery by controlling my diet
Hi Doctor ! I am 21 years old girl. Recently I found a lump in my right breast and I underwent US Sono mamography – Results -( Solid Lesion in right breast -BIRADS -3). My doctor advised me to do FNAC . The result came that I have fibroadenoma. Lesion measuring – 32 ร 15 mm. My doctor advised me for a surgery. I am an unmarried girl and lean (body). Can I take any tablets to reduce the size of lumps without surgery? If I do surgery is there any possibility for lumps in future ? I am so confused whether to have surgery or not ?
Hi There, surgery is in most cases not needed. Did you download my free ebook about natural FA treatments? If not here is the link again https://eatlove.live/free-ebook-natural-treatment-for-fibroadenoma/. As for the success rate of surgery, these FAs came for a reason and if you do not change the underlying reason for their development – which can be diet, lifestyle, stress, etc – then chances are they will come back within a year after the surgery. Hope this helps.
Hello Amy! How are you?
I have a couple of Fibroadenomas. One I have had since my 20’s. I am now 40. I am going to follow your advice in your free ebook. But I have a couple of questions : can I eat wholewheat pasta and/or brown rice? (instead of common pasta and white rice).
And when it comes to fruit, are there some I should avoid due to high sugar content?
Thank you for everything.
Hi Emma,
Thanks for sharing your story with us. I am glad to hear that my ebook is helping you to live a healthier lifestyle. As for the whole wheat pasta and brown rice, I would say eat them in moderation. Focus on adding more whole foods instead. Though the whole wheat and rice isn’t a problem on its own, a lot of chemicals that may disrupt your hormone balance (like arsenic in rice and glyphosate in wheat products) end up in conventionally grown rice or wheat. Going organic might be the solution.
Though complex carbs as whole wheat and brown rice can be part of a healthy diet, most people just eat too much of it. I grew up in Europe and people eat bread for breakfast and lunch and often eat a high carb dinner too (pasta, rice, etc). This is simply too much. One serving of carbs is enough for one day. Have you ever heard of the acid-base balance? It is a way of composing your meals with the focus on fresh produce. Below you’ll find some links that might interest you. I also added a link to foods high in phytoestrogen which may worsen FAs. Sweet fruits are ok but make sure to get enough greens into your diet too.

Hello Amy,
I would like to ask if itโs okay for me to use an extra virgin organic coconut oil for breast massaging? Considering the fact that I already have fibroadenomas in both breasts and I was trying to find any safe ways I can use to enlarge my breasts without increasing my risk of getting breast cancer or enlarging my lumps..
There is no risk involved when using coconut oil. It’s one of the best oils for your skin.
Doc Amy, is it adviceable to do a operation if you have breast fibroadenoma and if its your family history?
Hi Jona, if the FA is causing a lot of pain or discomforts, surgery might be the only option.
I am 71 & developed what appears to be a fibroadenoma. (& matches all descriptions of one). It is the size of a marble in the lower rim of my left breast. I was on bioidentical hormones since 2006, with no problem…but have been in a very stressful relationship for the past 3+ yrs (which I feel may have precipitated it…so I suspended it!). I don’t trust mainstream medicine, but would like to do the safest thing to eliminate it. Since this is my only health challenge, it is now causing stress!
Hi Marty, Life can be hard on us sometimes. But never give up finding your own happiness and peace again. I hope you find a solution to your stress trigger soon. Diet, stress, and lifestyle are the main contributor to the development of FAs. Take care xxx
