Watercress Citrus Green Smoothie
Though this peppery green tasting smoothie might not be for everyone, I just loved every sip of it. Next to arugula, watercress is one of my favorite greens. It is packed with health-promoting nutrients and has such a wonderful flavor. If, however, you don't like a green taste or your kid is going to have a glass too, you might want to swap some or all of the watercress with spinach!

Ingredients
- 2 cups watercress substitute half with spinach for milder green taste
- 2 apple cored and roughly chopped
- 2 orange
- 1 cup cucumber roughly chopped
- 2 cups water
- 2 tsp chia seeds (optional)
- 1 lime/lemon juice only (use less if using lemon)
Instructions
- Blend watercress, spinach (if using) and water until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. If the smoothie is too thick for you, add more liquid base. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw in everything at once.
- Optional: top with superfoods - such as goji berries, cacao powder/nibs, or hemp hearts - if you like.
Notes
TIP: Use one or more frozen fruit(s) to chill the smoothie. Or use ice cubes instead.
