Watercress Citrus Green Smoothie
Though this peppery green tasting smoothie might not be for everyone, I just loved every sip of it. Next to arugula, watercress is one of my favorite greens. It is packed with health-promoting nutrients and has such a wonderful flavor. If, however, you don't like a green taste or your kid is going to have a glass too, you might want to swap some or all of the watercress with spinach!

- 2 cups watercress substitute half with spinach for milder green taste
- 2 apple cored and roughly chopped
- 2 orange
- 1 cup cucumber roughly chopped
- 2 cups water
- 2 tsp chia seeds (optional)
- 1 lime/lemon juice only (use less if using lemon)
Blend watercress, spinach (if using) and water until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. If the smoothie is too thick for you, add more liquid base. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw in everything at once.
Optional: top with superfoods - such as goji berries, cacao powder/nibs, or hemp hearts - if you like.
TIP: Use one or more frozen fruit(s) to chill the smoothie. Or use ice cubes instead.
