Rose water is such a versatile product that it has become one of the most sought-after natural beauty products in the world, not just in India. Originally, the usage of rose water was a part of Cleopatra’s skincare regime. If Cleopatra, the most legendary queen of beauty, uses rose water for her skin, why wouldn’t you?

Every household should have a special place for rose water. Regardless of what issue you have with your skin, whether it is too oily or too dry, rose water can always help you and do more than just that. Ever since I had my first pimple, my mom told me to clean my face with rosewater 2 times a day. Since that day, rosewater has been my go-to facial cleanser and toner.

 Rose Water Benefits

  • Rose water is great for maintaining the pH balance of the skin. When pH level is balanced, oil production will also be maintained.

  • According to skin experts, rose water also has anti-inflammatory properties. These properties make it an excellent solution for reducing skin irritation, which usually leads to skin problems such as dermatitis and eczema. Rose water also helps alleviate and prevent acne, which is the most common of all skin conditions. Not only that, another one of the rose water benefits is that it can also remove accumulated dirt and oil in clogged pores, much like how a facial cleanser can.

  • In connection to that, the astringent properties of rose water make it a great tool to keep pores clean and the skin tone balanced. It is even highly recommended that you use rose water after steaming because it has the ability to tighten capillaries and decrease the chances of blotchiness or redness.

  • Because rose water also has antibacterial properties, it also has the power to heal skin damage such as cuts, scars, and wounds.

  • Rose water also helps in regenerating skin cells. Skin tissues and skin cells greatly gain from rose water benefits by strengthening them.

  • Aside from skin problems, rose water also helps with skin aging, helping keep signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines away.

  • Rose water also acts as a calming agent. Its aromatic scent provides a calming effect, which eliminates feelings of anxiety.

  • Hair also benefits from rose water. It has been known as a contributor to getting rid of scalp inflammations and dandruff. Rose water improves hair growth and acts as a natural conditioner.

  • It also helps tired eyes. If your eyes seem inflamed or tired, you can put rose water on a cotton pad and apply it around your eye area. It will remove the redness and will significantly reduce your eye’s puffiness.

  • It is also a great makeup remover. You can just add a few drops of extra virgin coconut oil to rose water and have yourself the perfect makeup remover. Just put the mixture on a cotton pad and use that to clean your face. Not only does this mixture clean your face, but it also helps in nourishing it as well.

Rose water is most effective if you purchase its purest form or the ones that come as a by-product of the production of rose oil.

To use rose water as a facial cleanser, simply add some on a cotton pad and rub over your face. If the cotton pad is quite dirty, repeat the process with a new cotton pad.
