To keep your skin smooth, refreshed and with a natural healthy look, it is important to treat it with great care. Our skin has a lot to endure, especially when living in a city. Toxic compounds present in the air are damaging and aging our skin. The face is the most exposed and therefore needs the most care. Here are 3 simple steps to treat your delicate face with care.

When living in a city, like me, try to apply these steps at least once a day, twice would be ideal. The lotions, tonics or crèmes can easily be made at home with natural products. And why not add some essentials to it to give it just that more.

Step #1: Cleaning

A good facial treatment starts with a good cleaning. The skin of your face is very delicate and therefore, soap is not a good option. You’ll get a dry skin when using too much soap. A far better option is to use a lotion or crème based facial cleanser. It’s important to clean your skin twice. The first time you’ll get rid of make-up and impurities, the second time is to clean the pores. Give your face a good massage using the crème or lotion and rinse with plenty of water afterward.

Step #2: Skin Tonic

Skin tonics are a great way to refresh and hydrate your skin and it removes the last bits of the cleaning lotion or crème. An atomizer with simple flower perfumed water will do the trick. No need to buy those expensive commercial ones. If you like you can add essential oils to it to give your tonic an aromatherapeutic value. Sprinkle your face with the tonic and wait until dry.

Step #3: Moisturising crème

After cleaning and refreshing your skin it is time to treat your skin with a moisturizing day or night crème. Choose a light crème in the morning and a richer in the evenings. This is the most important step to keep your skin smooth and beautiful. It will prevent dryness, gives it a smooth and healthy look and prevents premature aging of your skin. To ensure optimal benefits it’s important to apply the crème to a clean and dry skin. So don’t be tempted to skip step 1 and 2 to speed up your daily facial care.
