Red Velvet Green Smoothie

This nourishing Red Velvet Green Smoothie with beets contains so much plant love in one glass. Though it tastes like cake, it is chockfull of fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple cored and roughly chopped
  • 2 cups spinach packed
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 red beet (raw) roughly chopped
  • 1 cup carrot roughly chopped
  • 1 banana chunked
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil

Instructions

  • Blend spinach and water until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. If the smoothie is too thick for you, add more liquid base. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw in everything at once.
  • Optional: Top with chia seeds, goji berries, flax seed, hemp hearts, etc. if you like.

Notes

Use one or more frozen fruits to chill the smoothie. Or use ice cubes instead.
