Glyphosate is a chemical that is commonly used as a herbicide on many commercial crops. If you’ve heard of Roundup, the popular herbicide produced by Monsanto, then you might know that glyphosate is its active ingredient.

In the last ten years, its usage rates have gone up, somewhat directly proportional to the increase in the incidence of various diseases, including cancer, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, autism, Alzheimer’s, birth defects, ADHD, and celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Just to name a few.

What is disturbing is that many people believe glyphosate to be non-toxic and not harmful to humans. However, the overlooked fact is that it unsettles the operation of good bacteria (such as probiotics) in your gut. It likewise makes your intestinal walls more porous. In effect, this makes you express more symptoms of autoimmune diseases such as celiac disease.

Gluten Glyphosate Link

 

According to some medical professionals (such as Dr. Stephanie Seneff of the MIT), the emergence of celiac disease is attributable to the use of glyphosate as a desiccant for our crops. Especially on wheat it is used in immense quantities just immediately before they bring in the harvest.

Usually, it is used for crops that are genetically modified, which are resistant to Roundup Ready. These crops include soy, corn, alfalfa, cotton, sorghum, canola, coffee, and sugar cane. This is done because of its result: glyphosate paves the way for an earlier and bigger harvest.

When wheat is sprayed with roundup, however, the plant dies. Why? Wheat, unlike other genetically modified crops, is not roundup-ready, therefore, not resistant to its effects.

Roundup Makes Wheat Allergenic

 

A bigger yield might sound interesting to help feed the world, but not all that glitters is gold. Again, roundup is deemed by many to be nontoxic. However, studies show that the reality is the exact opposite. Glyphosate (roundup) and the wheat gluten swathe each other such that instead of turning it into something non-toxic, it becomes the reverse. The body then reacts to gluten, thereby resulting in Celiac disease. Roundup makes wheat allergenic.

In sum, the reason why people usually react to wheat is not because of the gluten; glyphosate is the one to blame here.

 

Time To Avoid Wheat Products To Protect Yourself and Your Family

 

Dr. Seneff noted that wheat’s exposure to glyphosate increases its yield. The use of roundup is beneficial to the farmer because they spend less on their harvest, but profit more. On the other hand, it is disadvantageous to the consumer because it causes gluten allergy among many other diseases such as cancer and autism.

Wheat and gluten have been around for a long time, but the gluten allergic reactions are just relatively recent. The occurrence of gluten allergy is theorized to be linked with the increased incidence of glyphosate usage.

On a more serious note, you must also note that the effects of glyphosate ingestion do not necessarily manifest immediately. It can take weeks, months, and even years before you physically express symptoms of inflammation.

Having all that said, what does this imply? You must be very careful with the wheat you eat. If by now you have developed an allergic reaction to gluten, it’s about time you consider avoiding wheat. You can save yourself and your family a  lot of misery by doing so.
