Juices, smoothies or salads are a fantastic way to power up your day. But did you know that adding a healthy fat can even make them healthier?

A recent Study published in Molecular Nutrition & Food Research has found that healthy fats could help your body to absorb more nutrients – such as lutein, lycopene, vitamin E, and beta-carotene – from the vegetables you eat.

These healing and diseases-fighting antioxidants may lower the risk of developing several types of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. They protect your bones and slow down macular degeneration. Adding coconut oil or avocados to your salads, juices or smoothie is definitely a smart move to absorb more of these valuable nutrients. Avoid fat-free dressings, sauces or other processed products. They are loaded with sugar, sodium, and chemical additives and preservatives.

Healthy Fats To Add To Your Salads, Smoothies Or Juices Include

  • Coconut oil or coconut milk
  • Olives or olive oil
  • Avocado or avocado oil
  • Nuts (almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts, pine nuts, etc.)
  • Seeds (flax seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.)
