I really love vinyasa yoga and became addicted to it! I have been practicing it for a while now and it totally changed my life! Not only my body looks healthier but I was able to clear my life from stressful events. I’ve learned how to balance personal life and work and enjoy the beauty of life.

Why did it change my life so drastically? Well, like many of us my life was becoming too busy and demanding. I have a stressful day job and lots of other hobbies and a busy social life. Sounds familiar? Well, one day my body said stop! I couldn’t find the energy to cope with all those things anymore and felt stressed and depressed.

But then the most amazing thing happened to me. A friend convinced me to go to a vinyasa yoga class and it totally changed my life. Now I know that I was putting my body and mind through a hard time and that it was crying for peace and relaxation. I never thought yoga would be something for me because I’m an adrenaline junkie. But it works amazingly, I still train my body, but at the same time, it is calming and relaxing for my mind. Just what I needed. I also learned how to meditate, another wonderful technique to de-stress your lifestyle. I try to practice yoga and meditation every day and they have become my peaceful moments in my hectic and chaotic life.

So why not give it a try? Vinyasa yoga is ideal for beginners and all age groups.

What is Vinyasa Yoga?

Yoga is a very ancient discipline that uses exercises and breathing techniques to balance mind, body, and soul. It is a wonderful technique to achieve physical and mental well-being. It de-stresses our busy lifestyles and helps us to find a perfect balance in life. Today vinyasa yoga is a very popular style of yoga that synchronizes the asanas or postures known from hatha yoga and breathing techniques in one flowing motion. Therefore it is often called ‘flow yoga’.

Vinyasa is the Sanskrit word for breath-synchronized movement. You can see it as a smooth dance of movements or poses while concentrating on the power of inhaling and exhaling. So vinyasa yoga is often at a faster pace and all asanas are linked together. While doing this they emphasis is on how you breathe. In general terms, the inhalation takes place when doing an upward movement and exhalations when performing a downward movement. The postures are not held during longer periods like when practicing Iyengar yoga, it usually flows with a rhythm that helps to synchronize process.

Maybe you may have heard of the sun salutation? This is a good example of a flowing sequence that focusses on the breathing with each movement you make.
