If your back is hurting then this simple trick may be just the thing you need to find instant relief. Reflexology is an age-old therapy of applying pressure on reflex points found on the sole of your feet. These specific points are linked to the various parts and organs of your body.

Through massaging or gently applying pressure to these points it is possible to restore balance and health.

How To Relieve Back Pain By Applying Pressure On Your Feet

You can use these simple reflexology techniques yourself. Or ask your partner to massage your feet to add some extra healing love to the process 😉

There’s an easy trick to locate the spine-points on the edge of your foot. Sit down with your legs crossed. Take your right foot into your left hand for support. Locate the line that follows the inner edge of your foot. Going from the tip of your big toe to your heel.

Use your right thumb to apply pressure on this line. If you have back pain that is coming from your spine you’ll be able to locate the exact points where you need to apply pressure. These points will feel painful and swollen. Gently massage or apply pressure to the nods for about 1 minute each in circular movements, release pressure and gently rub the area. Repeat 3 times and do the same with your left foot

Do the same thing on the reflex points connected to your sciatic nerve. This area is located on the sole of your foot just behind your heel.

If the pain is located in the upper back or around your shoulders, apply pressure just beneath the base of your toes. There’s also an area on the top of your feet, right behind the base of your toes, but apply less pressure to this bony and sensitive area.

Repeat 2 to 3 times a week for about 6 weeks to see some great results.

IMPORTANT NOTE: just as any other type of massage, foot reflexology must not be used when you have a fever, need surgery, or have foot issues. It is also not recommended when you’re pregnant.
