Echinacea purpurea, or Purple Coneflower, one of the best-selling herbs all over the world to treat upper respiratory issues, cold and flu infections. Moreover, its strong immune boosting properties increase the white blood cell levels, which are our body’s killing machines. Further, they help your body to get rid of the cold or flu causing bacteria or viruses and speed up the healing process.
Make one of those healing Echinacea teas when you notice the first signs of cold or flu and you’ll be up and running in no time. All parts of the plant can be used to brew a healing tea. The roots contain the most active compounds but have a bitter taste. So I prefer to use the leaves or flowers. You can use the fresh plant parts or you can buy dried parts at your local health store or on Amazon.
If you are planning to use fresh herbs, keep in mind that fresh herbs are less concentrated. A good rule of thumb is to use three times more the amount of dried herbs.
