Vegan Intermittent Fasting – Is It The Right Eating Combo for Weight Loss?

Vegan Intermittent Fasting

Losing weight and looking good is a perennial concern for a lot of people. This is why there always seems to be an obsession over the latest weight loss methods, products, and services. In many cases, people even combine a number of weight loss protocols in the hopes of increasing their chances of success.

One example is the recent trend in vegan intermittent fasting.

Vegan Intermittent Fasting (IF) as an Effective Way to Lose Weight

Intermittent fasting allows alternate feeding and fasting periods at regular intervals for a certain period. Many people today turn to this method for losing weight. While it is gaining popularity as a weight loss program, there is still not enough evidence to conclusively indicate its 100% effectiveness.

It is also advisable to consult with your physician before starting on this diet protocol.

There are several methods of intermittent fasting and you are free to choose which one you are more comfortable with. It is best to choose an IF method that you can easily follow. Basically, the variations differ in terms of when you are allowed to eat and when you are supposed to fast.

Even though some people are already reaping the benefits of intermittent fasting, it still is not good for everyone. People still need to watch their calorie consumption and eat the right kinds of food.

In the past, doctors or healers have used fasting to treat certain illness and prevent diseases. Patients drank only water to flush out unwanted calories and cleanse their bodies of toxins. The doctors then modified the process to include an allocation for small amounts of calories per day. These calories came in the form of a plant-based diet.

What Makes the Vegan Diet Helpful

A vegan diet is a strict vegetarian diet. It crosses out any food made with animal parts from your food list. Vegans don’t drink milk or eat cheese and other dairy products. They get their proteins from whole grains and other plants that offer these nutrients.

The low caloric content of fruits and vegetables make it perfect for intermittent fasting. Eating a vegan diet supports the goal of intermittent fasting to keep calorie levels at a minimum without compromising healthy nutrition. As a result, the person easily integrates IF into his lifestyle and he is able to successfully achieve his weight loss goals.

Fit and Healthy Dieting

There is nothing wrong with going on a diet for weight loss for as long as you are not putting your health at risk. The combination of IF and a vegan diet is a good way to get to your desired weight.

Always remember, however, that you should regularly check if you are getting all the nutrients you need (a simple blood test can tell you a lot) and that you stay healthy despite the limitations in your food intake.
