Ingredients

  • 2 apple peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or more to taste
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup/honey
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2-4 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Blend the apples in a food processor until smooth. Add all the remaining ingredients and pulse until everything is well mixed. Put the jam in a covered container or jar and place in the fridge until jellified. I stored mine in a glass jar in the fridge for up to a week or 2.
  • If you want more flavor, try adding nutmeg, ginger, clove or allspice too.
  • Toast bread slices and top with chia seed jam.

Notes

Chia seed jam can be made from any fruit. Just make sure to add enough water so that there is enough liquid for the chia seed to take up and for a gel-like substance. Apples and pears will need a little bit more water compared to berries or kiwifruits.
