Heart-warming Winter Oatmeal Bowl

Nothing better than a warm oatmeal bowl loaded with fiber and antioxidants on a cold winter day. Oatmeal bowls can be tweaked to your personal flavor. I like mine with extra cinnamon. Yum ;)

Ingredients

  • 2 banana mashed
  • 2-3 tbsps chia seeds or ground flax seeds
  • 1 cup rolled oats (certified GF if needed)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or more to taste
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or any other milk of your choice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup your favorite fruit berries, mango or pineapple are lovely (or a mix)

Instructions

  • Combine mashed banana, chia seeds, oats, cinnamon, milk, and water in a bowl. Mix well, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • In the morning, heat mixture in a pot over medium-high heat. When simmering, reduce heat and cook until thickened and heated through. Stir regularly.
  • Pour in a bowl and top with fresh fruits and anything else you like.

Notes

  • Other possible toppings: Chopped almonds, pepitas, goji berries, cinnamon, nut butter, honey, raw cacao nibs, etc.
