I love papayas and can totally understand why some people call it “The Fruit Of Angels”. Although papaya grows in tropical regions, it is easily available and affordable in most non-tropical countries.

Today, I feel so lucky to be able to live in Cambodia, SE-Asia were this yummy fruit grows in abundance. In fact, they are so easy to grow and produce fruit in less than one year. Moreover, I can’t wait until our first harvest!

Papayas are a good source of vitamin A, C, E, K, folate, potassium, fiber, and antioxidants to promote overall health.

Tropical Papaya Smoothie (serves 2)

  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 cup papaya
  • A cup pineapple
  • 1 large banana
  • A cup orange juice
  • 1 cup coconut water

Blend spinach, orange juice, and coconut water until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and blend again.

 

Antioxidant Papaya-Blueberry Booster (serves 2)

  • 2 cups bok choy (or spinach)
  • 1 big banana (or 2 small)
  • A cup papaya
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Blend bok choy and almond milk until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and blend again.

 

Papaya-Melon Smoothie (serves 2)

  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 2 cups papaya
  • 1 cup cantaloupe
  • 2 cups water or coconut water
  • 1 ripe pear

Blend spinach and water until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and blend again.
