We are all born with a beautiful skin, but it is up to us to keep our largest organ in its best condition. Stress, poor diet, lack of sleep, pollution, UV rays, smoking, and alcohol are only a few things that are contributing to a dull and dry skin.
These days there are tons of expensive creams and lotion on the market all promising a glowing, rejuvenated clear skin. Those creams and lotion are loaded with preservatives and additives that actually can have the adverse effect and can dry and damage your skin even further.
If you have been following this blog then you know how I love to make my own natural, cruelty-free skin products.
Here are a few of my new favorite natural skin remedies to avoid harsh chemicals and get a smooth, glowing and rejuvenated skin… and without breaking the bank 🙂
Easy DIY Natural Skin Remedies
1. Avocado-Honey Face Mask
This is a great facial to hydrate and rejuvenate your skin. It makes your skin look and feel smooth and helps to fight wrinkles.

Blend all ingredients until a smooth cream. Apply this mask to your skin and leave for 30 minutes to an hour. Rinse with warm water.

2. Cleansing Greek Yogurt and Papaya Facial Mask
Another great mask for face and body to fight dry skin and acne. Greek yogurt and papaya are both mild exfoliators that hydrate and rejuvenate your skin. Make sure to use a ripe papaya as those contain BHA (beta hydroxyl acids), which helps to remove dead skin cells. Papaya contains papain, an enzyme with antibacterial and wound healing properties. Honey works as a natural moisturizer and will make your skin soft and supple.
Papaya masks help to reduce freckles, brown spots, and acne.
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup mashed papaya
- 1 tablespoon honey
Blend yogurt and papaya and apply on face or body, leave for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.

4. Soothing and Refreshing Mint Body pack
Mint’s main substance is menthol which gives it its refreshing and cleansing properties.
- Fresh mint leaves
- Lemon Juice
- Warm water
Make a paste from the fresh mint leaves and lemon juice. Mix the paste with warm water and apply onto your body. Leave till it dries and rinse with warm water.
5. Turmeric To Reduce Blemish And Pigmentation
Turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine to cure all sorts of ailments. In India, most women apply turmeric paste or milk on their face to make it more beautiful. So no wonder that skin cancer does not appear that much in India.
Actually, turmeric can be used to treat a wide range of skin conditions.
Here are a few of my latest discoveries:
- Dark eye circles: make a paste from pineapple juice and turmeric. Apply under your eyes. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
- Wrinkle remover: combine a few teaspoons of sugarcane juice and turmeric. Apply the paste on the affected area and rinse with warm water after 10 to 15 minutes.
- Dry cracked skin: use a mixture of turmeric and sandalwood to rejuvenate and hydrate your skin.
