In my earlier post about facial care, I promised to put up some recipes. Well, here they are! 5 great homemade face cream recipes for you to try! You can use them to make your own facial cleansers and creams. I’ve added some tips to use essential oils to personalize it to your skin type.
#1 Cleaning Lotion For Normal Or Greasy Skin
- 150 ml natural cleaning lotion of your choice (without perfume, dyes or any other additional compounds)
- 10 ml or 2 teaspoons bitter orange blossom water (rose water works too)
- Essential oils: palmarosa, geranium, and lavender. 5 drops each
- Essential oils: ylang-ylang, grapefruit, and common juniper. 2 drops each
Add the lotion and the orange water together in a bowl and mix. Add essential oils and stir until homogenized.
#2 Cleaning Lotion For Dry, Sensitive Or Mature Skin
- 6 g beeswax
- hot water
- 120 ml seed almond oil
- 60 ml rose water
- 10 drops of rose absolute essential oil
Add the wax to a bowl that can withstand heat. Put the bowl in a cooking pot containing hot water. Heat on a medium fire and stir almond oil through it. Make sure you heat the mixture well. Heat the rose water in another bowl. Drip the rosewater into the oily mixture under constant stirring. Keep stirring to cool the mixture down and add the 10 drops of rose essential oil. Pour lotion into an airtight container or jar. This is a solid, rich cream but gets softer when applied to the warm skin.
